Sorry about that all. My internet just came back up. It's still spotty. Messages are delayed by about 4 minutes. Super weird on my end.

Fish can adjust to higher nitrates. I've done around 140 know people that have kept fish in 600 range issue ends up being when you need to add new fish since they won't be able to tolerate the quick change. Also, I've only seen it done with smaller, hardier fish.

I know I'm really fortunate to have a big tank, but I agree with Cory, bigger isn't always better. Sometimes a big tank just means bigger headaches. Over the last few years, I have genuinely enjoyed my little 26 gallon nano aquarium more than my monster tank. I don't regret getting the 770G, but I can say for a fact it does not give me 30X the enjoyment I get from my 26 gallon, just because it's 30X bigger.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I gotta say……the magic small (nano) food is a game changer. Might be the best thing I’ve bought in the last 10 years. What a life saver! So convenient when I don’t want to deal with live baby brine or other small frozen.

I went from 30 gal bow front x2, 7 gal nano x2 and what i didnt realize was the huge fun and success of the 400 gallon fish pond tub outside! Throw stuff in there, and see what grows. Water hyacinth is a huge problem in our swamps. No problem in a backyard pond. Great live stream!

I have been using filter socks in my sumped 75g and have noticed I like felt socks better than the mesh, which seem to plug faster and need to be cleaned every couple of days as where the felt have been about once a week

Rewatch crew here. I'm absolutely on board with feeding more. My cherry shrimp colony wasn't breeding for a solid 4 months. I tried everything i could think of, more plants, more gh more kh fresh water, no filter, less light and on and on. The only thing that made a difference was adding a bunch of food, like 4 times what i would normally feed, and suddenly everyone was berried.

Hi, question about possible cotton mouth in blue tetras! Is aquarium salt the safest treatment to try or do I need antibiotics? 🤷🏼♀️😢🙏🏻

Salt is a great way to treat it if you don't have live plants.

Cory when I was a kid I had air pump trays that would hang on the back or side of the aquarium. I loved them. Maybe this would make a great update or improved product. Or even 3D printing?

Totally agree with higher nitrates! I have a 29 with 10 Congos, 10 Serpaes, 10 panda Cory, and the usual gang of algae eaters. The nitrates run 150 before and 80 after my water changes. But this tanks fish and plants are by far my healthiest! Also, my phosphates remain stable in this tank. where I have to dose the shiz out of my larger tanks with easy green to get the nitrates high enough to keep the plants alive and growing or my phosphates will get to 20+ between biweekly 33% water changes with the die off. Pretty sure the key is a ton of fertilizer or way over stocking 😂 im all for over stocking fish! I’m glad you covered this topic, my numbers and all the internet nonsense were just as lopsided at first in my head but you helped it make sense to me

Fish species specific foods. I remember getting a lot of hate because I was feeding African cichlids wrong (according to internet/youtube) the only problem was I have spoken with Ad Konings one on one and have heard many of his talks concerning African cichlids. And he has study the gut of so called algae eating cichlids and has found an abundance of small crustaceans in their guts. We need to remember while eating algae, wood or whatever the fish is eating they also consuming whatever else is on or in that food source.

I wish you had done this one before I spent an arm and leg on a 125 acrylic clear for life tank! I hate it and its making my hobby miserable! It has a horribly designed top. Its hard to scape and now that I have THREE GIANT pieces of wood and a million plants, I can't hardly clean it, and I definitely can't catch any of the fish in it🤦🏼♀️

Cory! I've been following you and aquarium co op for at least 8 years now and absolutely trust your experience. However, I was really disappointed to hear your response to someone wanting to put together some scientific information for you on how nitrates affect bacterial growth. Whether you like it or not, you are THE main source of aquarium information for so many people getting into the hobby, and it makes me nervous to hear you say you don't want to spend more than 6 minutes on something like that. An hour is not asking much for someone who can spend 2+ hours a week livestreaming, and it is extremely generous of someone to offer to put that information together. I don't know how I can trust your reasoning if you are so nonchalant about scientific resources and peer review. I agree that most people don't want to spend time reading scientific papers, but thats why content creators like you need to do that hard work so that we spread good information in the hobby! This was the most disappointing thing I've ever heard from you, and I say this in the hopes that you will reconsider your perspective and remember you have a duty to present correct information as best as possible. If you are not willing to look into results beyond your own, your opinion is much less trustworthy imo. I know you work very hard, but make sure it's on the right things!

It's kind of a bold statement to say that most of the people here do not know about the nitrogen cycle or pH. I would think that people that are interested in your videos, more so the ones that spend 2 hours watching you do know what the nitrogen cycle/pH is. At least the majority. Sometimes you treat people like they're dumb or something like that and it gets tiring.

I like that he is sure to include newbies (like me) by providing very basic information and advice. I have never felt talked down to. Alternately, I lose patience with content creators who assume I always know what they are talking about and it all goes over my head. I’ve been watching these videos for a long time and would bet my last dollar that his intention was not to offend anyone. I would rather have the odd misspoken word than a rehearsed and boring presentation.
