I'm not sure whether to continue with this game or not. One the one hand, it looks like its great depth and accuracy for a wargame and offers much more than than your simple RTS. But on the other, the interface is awful and the game isn't drawing me into it thanks to that steep learning curve! But it could be so good if I persevere long enough.

@@Mchammerjam LoL i switch from WoT to War Thunder, was to many players Cheating in WoT, and once you get use to War Thunder its when the fun begins.

You might like the Combat Mission series of games. They're fairly similar to Tank Warfare with a major exception: the combat is quasi-turn-based. That is, both players issue orders to their units, and when that's done a minute of real-time passes during which the units attempt to execute the orders. However, the players can't affect the outcome the orders until the minute passes and the next planning phase begins.

Yes, it does remind me of Combat Mission. I've played the "Battle for Normandy" scenarios. It's good fun.

I've had the game for a few days. It is a bit frustrating but the more I get the hang of it the better I like it. There are a couple of online manuals and a guide on steam. There are also a couple of good guides on Reddit as well. Some of the guides are for Operation Star and Mius Front but the mechanics are the same. As far as the tutorials run thru them a couple of times and keep your eyes peeled as to what to pay attention to. If you get "lost" click on the "globe" up top to reorient yourself. All the reviews I've read say to hang in there.

oddly reminds me of BeamNG. God awful UI with little to no polish. But in terms of raw mechanics and simulation of reality it's really dam good.

Just for the record, ricochets off the front of the Sherman WERE something you would see a lot of and were common. The frontal armor of the Sherman was equivalent to the T-34 and because it was sloped, almost that of the Tiger. Besides the odd Tiger or a handful of PZIV with the high velocity 75, no other tank (PZ2,3 or 4) was going to penetrate the front of it

love watching you play this. I think you represent 99% of people trying to play one of the graviteam games for the first time. I had GTOS for a couple of years and still struggle to get into it properly. The games got a small hard core group of fans that loves it.

Err. . . you went immediately from the main screen and clicked on 'Tutorial'. What we DIDN"T see what the tutorial (of the 7 I saw available) that you selected.

I think the most difficult thing in all of gaming to understand is - how can a team smart enough to make a really good game engine, also be dumb enough to make an unusable interface? I've seen several examples of this. What usually happens in these cases is the game engine itself is good for many sequels before the interface is ever half decent. Can it be possible that making the interface is more difficult than making the engine? The interface seems so simple to do by comparison? It's an inscrutable problem that probably shouldn't exist.

I wonder if the issue is that the developers, all being familiar with the game and how it should work, don't notice how awkward the interface is for those without their knowledge and experience of the game. What seems obvious to them, isn't to new players to the series. Its just a theory. But really, good external playtesters should highlight such issues before games like that get published.

I just want to learn basic training. Can you just upload the video of basic training? I am not able to understand the basic training so i want the video of basic training. Thank you. There is no instruction shows up after I turned off the FOV of the Tank and I really do not know how to proceed.

This game doesn't look worth it unless there are some major changes... Also to target tanks, is the arrow in the "target infantry" box a drop down menu where you could select a command to attack tanks instead? I don't have the game so I can't check it out myself and I wouldn't wanna check it out anyway, game seems painful lol...

It could be, good point. I finally found a button to let you manually select a target, though it didn't make it clear to see if the target I was selecting was in range, or line of sight or anything. I just had to have faith :p

The first company that makes an RTS which also includes a tank sim (drive the tank from inside), I know of none....with an engine that can be modded by the community, will absolutely dominate the game industry. The money-grubbing "user locked out" philosophy is suicidal.

You may want to look at Steel Armor: Blaze of War, not exactly what you describe, but a good Tank simulator
