I saw Gloryhammer a few years ago in a tiny club in Kansas City and they were so much fun. It was the middle of summer, the AC wasn't working, and it was HOT. All the guys are wearing costumes and just dying from the heat. The whole time, "Angus" was such a great showman and entertainer. He kept making jokes about how hot it was, but carried on as if he was performing for 30,000 fans, and not just 300. I wasn't sure about how good his solo effort would be, but the two songs so far have been outstanding.

That’s awesome. Great entertainers are so cool to see. I saw Korn once when Jonathan Davis was clearly deathly ill with the flu on stage. He powered thru for the fans in the TN humidity even tho he couldn’t do bagpipe solos while standing. Can’t wait to catch Angus McSix live someday. Happy to support groups like that

Oh my gosh, how I've missed cheeseball power metal! My first introductions to the world of metal was Rammstein and Rhapsody (of Fire), and a little bit of Dragonforce thrown in (I think Inhuman Rampage was just released). And man, I _LOVED_ Rhapsody's music. I still love The Magic of the Wizard's Dream, featuring Christopher Lee. I remember having my socks knocked off when I found out Lee did the narration for one of their albums! I particularly loved Rhapsody for their combination of orchestral music and a neo-classical-inspired style of metal. Before I got into metal when I was a senior in high school, all I really listened to listened to classical, film/video game scores, big band jazz, and music written for wind ensemble bands. I still have a soft spot for metal with orchestral elements, which is one of the reasons why I love Lorna Shore and why I naturally transitioned to Nightwish after Rhapsody. I love the lineup in Angus McSix; I love how it's a supergroup; I love this song. Thank you, thank you, Tank!

Glad you liked this so much. From what I've seen, most of us seem to prefer their other single so far. I'd say it has more cheese, definitely in the lyrics, and it has that key change you were expecting. You should definitely check it out

If you're talking about the guard of the sword, then yes, it is Godawful. If the guard was vertical and not horizontal, it would've looked better. I even said that sword looks good, but the guard the prop department used is outright dogshit somewhere in Master of the Universe video.

What I will be excited to see is whether they will develop an overall concept that comes close to Gloryhammer's, I imagine they will definitely try. But there is something to be said about the mad songwriting/storytelling genius of Chris Bowes that is hard to replicate. Also rip kreatorboy for his sub going unnoticed and complained about :D

Seeb plays both guitar and bass, so we'll have to see which one(s) he'll play live. As others suggested, you should watch Master of the Universe for the truly classic power metal feel you want. It's also one hell of a diss track towards his former band. I've rarely been so entertained by a guy pissing all over those who aggrieved him (figuratively, of course). I will say, this track is a genuine earworm, though MotU is also quite a banger.

There are some electronic music groups that have a live lineup consisting of drums, multiple keyboards and vocals. But I doubt that will be a thing in rock/metal. What i notice is quite the opposite: Why do powermetal bands not have a keyboarders on stage? Many have relatively simple synths that could be played live. Instead they go for a backing track and I don't get it.
