This hobby is just the best .It can leave the pockets a little empty at times but nothing is more fun than setting up some new kit and reviewing the outcome especially if its a bargain and your happy with the end results..

Never mind the concentric driver - Tannoy has higher efficiency due to lighter cone in the first place. Better tolerance in moving parts - lighter moving coil etc. Result - less distortion !

nice to watch your video with detailed descriptions. you mentioned the bass performance of Tannoy was not good enough due to the ducted port, can you please explain more as im an amateur?

I have the M15 as my main speakers. I've bought expensive speakers (ProAc D20R, D3 and Gato FM15), all of which I sold on or returned (FM15). I prefer the overall sound of the Tannoys. They don't require expensive source and amps and are far more forgiving on poor recordings. Easy to drive 8ohm, 89dB sensitivity.Can be found for less than £70. Absolute bargain.

I believed the price of SL6si was higher than M15. They were also made in different years between mid 80's (SL6) and early 90's (M15).

The woofers on the sl6si do not appear to be original. They look like replacements.

I bought them second hand so I did not notice the difference. I think they may have been repaired and replaced the dust caps. The sound quality is very good specially when listening violin music (better than playing on my other speakers JBL 4311A).

Tannoy speakers are closer together than the Celestion for starters. Not a very accurate comparison.
