I'm just passing by. After I cleaned my hog maw stomach. I stuffed mine with cabbage, potatoes, loose sausage and sausage link chunks. I make mine the Pennsylvania Dutch method. Eating it anyway to a person's liking is great. Great video.

So I didn't learn how to make maws before my mom passed. I watched several videos, and yours is the only one that was as close to my mom's process. With your instructions, my maws turned out JUST like hers. Thank you so much for sharing this 🥹🙏🏿❤️🙂

I’m not going to lie…as a Northerner (born and raised), I hate pork, especially “eclectic pork”, such as souse meat, chitlins, hog maws, pigs feet, etc. But, as an adult, I lived in other cities and I really learned to appreciate Southerner, as they usually have themselves together, are goal driven, and have fifty effective ways of accomplishing a task. (Also, Southern men know how to “bring it” all day and all night😋😋😋😋😋!) I watched this video out of curiosity. She is a good teacher. She has a sweet personality too. I may decide to apply this recipe to beef or chicken. I’m subscribing to the channel! 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

I’m making chittlins for thanksgiving. I cleaned them yesterday. My mom and aunties used to cook these in the oven but the pressure cooker idea is so much more ideal. Thank you for your video. Happy Holidays 🦃

Thanks for this video I’m making chittlins today if I find hogmaws I’m adding that to it. I laughed when you said your moms friend told her she clean them too much. My step dad always told my mom she took too much off the chittlin. They are from Mississippi

Hard to find chittlins here in Southern California, except at around Christmas! Would love to have some chittlins and hog maws now!
@TannyCooks Жыл бұрын
Yep. I wonder what happened to all the hogs? Or maybe not enough meat processing workers?
@kenb0007 Жыл бұрын
@@TannyCooksthe reason for it is due to the actual care of the hogs has been upgraded. They are not over crowded anymore and are being taken better care of so it's more expensive and harder to find here in California. I paid 65 dollars for about 10 pounds of pig ears.. which is a case.

If that restaurant disappointed you you would definitely be disappointed in frozen pre-cooked chitlins. They sell them in little tubs next to the buckets. Anyway, they don't clean them down and leave them all chewy. They are good for frying up though after you let them boil for a little bit. Good for sandwiches or tacos. Try them fried chitlins cut up on a corn tortilla with lime, cilantro, and fresh onion.
@dawg8k9.4 ай бұрын
They still need to be cleaned. Pre-cleaned just means they will be easier to clean. Thank you for the taco recipe 😋

It's amazing how black people assume chitterlings and hog maws are slave food when other cultures in multiple nations eat them. Either you don't read or travel. Either way the comment was so ignorant it's obvious you are a black American who never traveled the world or tried to learn about anything. All most seem to know are negativity about themselves.

Lobster, crabs, okra, beans and rice were slave foods, too. Are we suppose to stop eating those as well?
