These are the first words of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, uttered by Guru Nanak. It contains the root of sound that is the basis of all effective mantras. This mantra orients like a compass towards God. It forms the basis of the consciousness of our very soul. Mul means root. This is the root mantra that begins the Siri Guru Granth Saahib, the Sikh scriptures and is the most condensed essence of the entire teachings of this holy book.

Why its called Tantric Mool Mantra, though its picked from Shri Guru Granth Sahib ? We sikh just call it Mool Mantra.

3HO is not a cult.

It should be rather called tantric version of Mool Mantra as it is used at events called 'White Tantra' which is a meditation course. I cannot say that I find this version appropriate. There are more beautiful versions around, e.g. Snatam Kaur..
