Hi A If you change the cdi box under your seat to a auto advancing ac cdi box it will be easier to start and it will stop kicking back .

You have the same issue I have with mine, you need to start it like you would a high compression bike. aka pushing the kickstarter down and back up again till it has resistance, then you give it 1 hard kick and it should start :)

I have the same engine and carb, do you know the settings on your carb, like the fuel screw and idle screw. So far I have my fuel screw on 2 turns out and idle is about 2, what is your set on cause it starts up nice n easy

Your the major reason why I ended up getting a Tao Tao and the bike works pretty well except mine started to die if I turn off the choke and since this is the first bike I got I don't know the issue behind that.

Gaming With Fusion I purchased the dbx1 , it’s a bad ass bike for the price , I plan on buying the db24 as soon as possible when I get the $ , the website I found them on is called (superior powersports ) they shipped my dbx1 for $880 total in under 7 days , only issue was missing Handel bar bolts , and I ordered black ,but they gave me an orange bike no big deal I actually like the orange better now lol , I have only 8 hours on my motor , I will make a video review when I get to 10 engine hours so I can give a decent first review , I may also purchase the 125cc hellcat from Tao as well for street legal use , once I sell my car I will have money to play with and get a few more of these Tao bikes , they are too good for the money , get them while they last ! Btw I had to custom make notches in the stock carburetor so I can raise the needle inside of it , the bike idled fine out of the box but on full throttle it would die off , or bog and then die as they say , so when I raised the needle it made the bike run perfect , I had to raise it almost 1/8th inch , the stock carburetor has ONLY 1 needle setting so you have to buy a new carb or customize the stock carb needle like me , but I did both , I purchased a high performance 26mm nibbi carburetor , you will see everything I did in my video review , thanks hope this helps your bike run

Do you really need to use the choke switch when trying to start it? Also when you turn the bike off what would be the best position for the choke and also the fuel switch. I just hit the kill switch and that was it but should I turn the fuel to off? I don't know if that matters at all, but if like to avoid having carb issues or backups from fuel being in the system all the time if that would hurt it.

You only need the choke on cold starts, it lets less of the cold air in so that it can start easy. Turn the fuel off now im not the best with these but i just know I left my gas on for like a week with out riding and it would not start, But when I put fresh fuel in it does I think turning it off helps the fuel stay fresh But I dont know.

Taotao generally quotes all their products lower speed than actual, probably for liability reasons, or in the case of their 49cc scooters for states like Texas that allow unlicensed riders to ride small scooters, but restrict them to 30mph max . I couldn't imagine a manual transmission 125cc offroad horizontal engine not hitting 45 mph +.

you should not need to give it any throttle if you're using the choke. that's what the choke is for. and if its got a carb that has the throttle cable going into the top (which yours appears to be, which is better than vacuum operated carbs) then every time you turn that throttle, you're letting gas into the carb, allowing for possible flooding.

Levi Did this not necessarily I’ve just thrown in neutral on every single bike I’ve ever had without an issue. I’ve had crs kxs xrs I’ve had Yamaha Kawi Honda’s and Suzuki’s also even Chinese bikes with 0 issues so far. If I’m not sure I will pull the clutch in but if you have a Bike that has a good condition clutch with a properly adjusted clutch cable you’ll be fine not pulling in the clutch in neutral. That is if your clutch properly disengages in neutral. I’ve never had a bike that didn’t and if it did I fixed it, but if you’re in gear or not sure yea pull in your clutch. If it makes you feel happy you can do it but it really makes no difference good or bad if your actual clutch (the mechanism in the motor not the lever) is working properly

I use 3 heat cycles 5 minutes 10 minutes 30 minutes all with a full cool down , no load just idle .After that change the oil . The engine comes with break in oil , top it off ,strat engine and do heat cycle . When finished heat cycle CHANGE THE OIL . The important part is NOT to overheat the motor during break in .
