EXO! Been following you for years on my other profile. But just want to say that I love your excitement in all of your videos and I have always enjoyed watching your progress! I grew up around audio and electronics my whole life and being born in the 80's I discovered Bassmekanic in the early 90's and have collected over 20 different CD's from the Bass Mekanic series. My first car audio experience was in JR high school and my neighbors would call me Megahertz since I was always so technical when I would talk to them about audio when they would have system troubles. I have been a bass addict since I could remember and I love building subwoofer enclosures. Right now since I have a wife and 3 kids audio systems for my cars have been on the back burner until we get a home of our own and I have the finances to afford my favorite hobby. The only bass I have right now is in my home theater with 2 B2 audio 12"s on 2kw of Crown audio power. For now I will watch your videos for my car audio excitement 🙂. My top 3 hobbies are Working on cars (mechanical and audio), home theater installation, and drag racing! Pretty much anything that involves going fast and great sound haha! Keep bassing my brother and I love how your editing videos has grown, but still has that EXO style. My next audio build will be purchased through Showtime since I love the work ethic you both bring to the Car Audio industry. PS. Don't know about you but I still have my magazines from CAE from 1997! Oh! I forgot to add that I have been in to R/C monster trucks (and monster trucks in general) since the introduction of Clodbuster from Tamia back in the 80's! I have a Losi LST 1/8th scale nitro truck. I might consider an E conversion with the latest battery tech being so much better than 10 years ago.

I enjoy building things in my free time. That is probably why I enjoy building subwoofer boxes so much. It is so much fun when you get the box just right so that even cheap subs sound amazing! A few months ago I finished a series I called Budget Boomin. It was four 8” subwoofers that I paid $9 each for brand new. The enclosure was a 4th order and with 500 watts going to it, it hit 135 db! Seeing people’s reactions are what makes it worth it!!

I'm gonna assume when the door is opened the pressure becomes different if the subs are tuned specifically, when the door is opened it can course damaged subs or blown
@stuartmeaney4 жыл бұрын

@rashaadmuhammad46664 жыл бұрын
that is correct, subs will unload in some builds if a door is opened in the middle of playing. Also the pressure typically loads against the closed door, so the side with the closed door is usually louder.

I have 3x 8s tuned at 24.5 hrz. Pressure is very important especially when you're pushing them at full tilt. If the door opens like that or the pressure changes that fast without your knowledge it will lead to over excursion and I guess you know what happens next 💥. It's the same as if you where to run your sub free air it's not gonna handle the power you normally feed it your sub voice coil works less harder with free air Then you having pressure. with pressure it takes more power to push it. now use that same power on free air your voice coil is getting more power than it needs to travel that distance thus creating heat and turing down efficiency, And You Know It!!! Over Excursion. Not only that Opening the door also will make it tune lower Your car is literally sub box. So when having expensive equipment that's tuned precisely opening the door will fuck some shii up And especially the turning of the system The door is a port basically Basically to sum it up, you open door system sounds like crap smoke smoke the soft parts shoot out and no more bass :'( There's few more things to go over but my fingers are getting tied lol. What I do when I'm not bassing out? my favorite pastime is working on electronics, riding me bike ,making sum art, playing with rc cars, and exploring the wild 👍 Hell yeah brotha!

Hey exo, been a big fan for years, i had 4 sundown 8s with two 2ks treble cliff in a 2000 toyota tacoma, took it to a mechanic to do a head gasket. Mechanic did the work but both my amps were fried and all 4 8s had holes in them. So i sold my favorite truck and pieced out the rest of the system that worked. I havent been around bass in 3.5 years. You know what its like to want to ask people in traffic for a demo because you miss it so much. My wife is disabled so i have not built another system, i have laid under the computer table with a box over my head and sub to try and get the feeling but its not the same. And you dont open windows or doors so you dont unload the subs. Just wanted to tell you cant wait for the van system. Thanks for all the years of bass head life my friend.

Its important to keep the door shut so that the subwoofers do not "unload". It similar to having a leaky box, or a port that is too large. The cabin is basically a part of the enclosure too, so if its not designed to have the door open, you could easily damage subwoofers on high power

Top 3 interests: 12V Audio for sure! PC Gaming & Photography/Videography I would assume that opening the door while pushing the subs that hard would remove any back pressure that the cones are pushing against. This would allow them to jump out of the basket. Since the cabin of the vehicle is basically a chamber, you are instantly changing the "inclosure" size and you can really throw off the balance of the drivers.

I loveee making and playing music. I can jam on mostly any contemporary band instruments (piano, drums, bass, and my core instrument guitar) besides music, i love working out with my buddies and ofc bass. I just upgraded from a 10 inch p2 to a 12 inch skar in a ported box and im in love. Also although im a dude i love fashion and painting my nails and shit like that.
