He should be held responsible for his poor lack of leadership and management. Why was he not aware of so many things? There is a case to be made here for wrongful death and this sheriff is helping that along. Additionally, I have worked closely both in my professional and civilian life with law enforcement in 3 states and 2 different countries. I have continued friendships within law enforcement both in local and state level, do I rely on them for my protection? No, they know that because they know I carry a gun (we go to the range together). Whether they care about me, or not, has never been a question. Name calling? Over the Internet? Seriously!

His questioning on the sheriff allowing medical professionals on the scene was pretty lame. I used to be an EMT and I know people that ran on the Gabby Giffords call because I lived in Tucson at the time. You have to make sure it's safe before you go into this sort of call. The notion that one guy was chomping at the bit to get in there doesn't mean anything. You'd have to provide actual evidence medical personnel was unnecessarily delayed.

Rich Carbba, if by real journalist u mean scandal rag level interview, sure. I personally found Tappers performance disgusting, and that has nothing to do with the contents of the interview, but everything to do with the way he conducted it. And after sitting through 28min I was still left with zero answers, coz Tapper kept interrupting, never allowing a full answer. There are absolutely several questions, that are not only fair to ask, but need to be answered. But we wont get any answers from such a disgracefully unprofessional interview.

The sheriff has many inconsistencies in his perceptions of what happened durning the time the active crime took place and after the crime was dormant ,he has made a colossal number of statements in public thru the media and one on one with colleagues that will lead to him being not only fired,but also sued personally and he will be very lucky if he is not indicted because the deputy will be indicted,it looks like from the evidence being discovered in the probe .

So without making it personal we should really focus on the actual facts of what TRULY matters. The human heart. Until America can get right with that nothing will truly change😕.

What I don't understand is how after the guy kills 17 people they manage to bring him in alive without a scratch. But we have cases with unarmed men who killed no one and their dead. We need to assess everything we're doing, it's all going to shit, none of this is making any sense. WTF is going on, I think more individuals need to be fired, you can't blame this all on the cowardly officer who didn't go in.

Here is the deal. These small-town police departments and deputies who arrived at the scene of this killing floor were afraid to go in and engage the shooter. Even though they are trained, they don't have serious police runs, they don't do any serious police work, and they don't know what to do in a situation like that. But if you take police officers who face these kinds of situations daily like from Detroit, New York, Philidelphia, California would have gone in and engaged the killer. But police officers who only deal with police runs where a dog was pissing on someone's flower garden, they are not going to confront a real killer. Training modules where there are no real shooters but only mock situations, it is a big difference from a real active shooter who is on a killing spree! This Four Star paper pusher should be fired. The first thing that he should have done was looked at the freaking footage and film! YOU ARE FIRED! Look you are the Sheriff of your department, you should have looked into this yourself since there were so many complaints about this killer! You should look at every violent report that comes into the Sheriff's office, and you should know what is happening, situations like this after all that many "red flags" should have been followed-up! Stop licking your lips and making freaking excuses! You need to be locked up yourself for this debacle with your department!
@smalltowngirlbigcityheart37246 жыл бұрын
A Warrior of Christ Amen!
@JasonP26 жыл бұрын
A Warrior of Christ - Broward county has a population of nearly 2 million people, I would hardly call that a "small-town police department." Furthermore, Florida has consistently been top 10 in terms of crime compared to other states over the past few years - i.e. only a hand full of states have more crime. While states like Illinois and California may have more shootings, Florida has had a higher death toll as a result of shootings in recent years. To sum this all up, I feel it is inaccurate to say that these officers lacked the training or experience necessary to handle the situation. I agree with you on most of your other points though, especially about watching the footage and listening to the audio. How has the SHERIFF of the county not seen the footage or listened to the audio of what happened that day NEARLY A WEEK AFTER THE EVENT. I mean, what could possible be more important than this active investigation which the entire country is watching and scrutinizing? Just shameful. Also, Israel seems to care an awful lot about "crossing t's and dotting i's" now, but where was this level of due diligence when Cruz was making threats and arming himself to the teeth with firearms? 16 or 18 calls - either way, too many - to Broward County Sheriff's department and nothing was done. Cruz should have been committed after the 2nd call.
