Tappet Adjustment

I have just recently purchased a 220 Avenger and am facing a noise of the Tapit. At 1400kms the Bajaj service centre did some work and the noise was gone. Now the bike has done 2k kms and the noise has come back. What can be the issue? Need help.

Great Indian Jugaad. I have been to Bajaj service and they say it's a normal sound which I don't agree. They did adjust the settings and the sound is gone but I feel it will be back. Plus if it's faulty why dont they own up to such things.

+Manoj Gupta its a very common problem, plus not everyone is trained well enough to correct every minute problem. Its a wonder they fixed it the first tym.

+Rishipal Sharma actual its could be both, agr ap net se koi diagram nikl skte ho toh dekhna ki valve ka top pe hi tappet hota h, its called valve's tappet. Now jo clearance wo tappet screw se adjust ho jata h. Jo top se bhi dikhta h(video me bhi h), pr agr valve me seal wali side (inside combustion chamber) koi problem ho. Toh valve hi change krna pdega. Agr sirf tappet adjust krqane hain toh engine ko thanda hone dena pdta h tph 2 hours tk lg skte hai (150-200 ₹). Valves change krne hain toh or jada tym lgega around 3 hours valve are 80-100₹ a pair plus 200-250 labor. Pr exact problem kya h wo kisi ko bhi nhi pta hoga unless wo engine khol ke dekhege.

+Rishipal Sharma or rhi bta kick ki it has nothing to do with valves or tappets. Clutch plates khtm ho gyi hongi. Change hi krwani pdengi. 800 -1000 ka khrcha. Including labour.

+Rishipal Sharma or ek baat agr tappets adjust krwane hai toh kisi ache centre se krwana, tappet adjustment k liye piston ka tdc pe hona jruri h. Most of the local mechanicis dont do that.
