I can picture Legolas singing this about his friends from the Fellowship, Gimli most of all, after they all died and left him sad and alone because he's immortal, but he's trying to hold on and not give into his own heartbreak and die himself, but his home is where his loved ones are, and he's the jealous type so he's jealous how all his friends (and whichever of them you ship him with, I ship Gimli and Legolas) are happy without him in the afterlife, and now he doesn't have a home anymore, and the west is not healing for him anymore.
