My higher self told me to sit down & Watch the Tara Brach videos I had saved on KZbin 😁 I am so so fortunate I listened. Frankly I’m pretty adept at ignoring this higher self lady & today was the first time I’ve been inside my body for 6 years. Thank you so much the last time I followed the loop (we call it “ hamster wheeling”) I nearly died because my body forgot how to breathe. Pretty scary ~ I’m in treatment & therapy now in a very small community with “old fashioned ideals “ (one stoplight) The social condemnation around substance addiction is actually lethal. In combo with your own self hatred it has been quite a difficult path! I watched seven or so of your videos (what a gift you are)! I was able to recognize I am ruthless to myself! I suspected my heart was a divine Manifestation of God’s love when I was a child ~ but I was terrified to ever really look because you think what if they’re right?! I was exceptionally tender with myself didn’t even go to the trauma wing of my heart. Simply checked in TRUSTED! It’s been many years since I have trusted! Having locked myself out of my own body for so long I feel so grateful that it was still breathing when I checked back in. It’s a very obvious miracle! I decided to get my license in addiction counseling during a lengthy period of sobriety many moons ago & I’m returning to finish in April! My therapist (she’s a bad ass)! is familiar with some of the techniques that I learned more about today so I decided tonight to make a focused commitment to be present, mindful and absolutely unequivocally in love with myself! When you suggested the hand over your heart I told myself it’s okay honey, everything is actually ok and it’s only getting prettier from here. plus YOU GOT THIS GIRL 💕The belief that I can and will get through this seems like it’s going to be crucial. I truly appreciate and honor you for your work! So often you here a lot of info but I’ve found it rare that healers and guides can describe the how!! Knowing that you need something different and what that looks like isn’t particularly helpful if you don’t know the steps to get there. You’re work is revolutionary!! 🙌🏼 🙏🏻

You're compassion is more powerful than your addiction. Addiction is fragile, and may change or fall off whenever. But compassion, but compassion.. endured through everything

Liz, I had the same experience. I really connected with my pure self and embraced my addicted self. I feel like I'm starting a new journey. Peace.

Yay! Have you ever tried the work of Byron Katie that Tara talks about? I do the at home zoom sessions at least once a week for the last year, and it's really helping me be sane. 🦄

Tara, thanks to the way you talk about addictions made me able to face a curren add iction; overusing prescripton meds because all I want is to sleep, not to feel, not to be here. I know I have to ask for help. I have to join a 12 step program
