This time of year, we take my sister's dog, Tara, a cavaschon, to a nice quiet campsite, because she is terrified of loud bangs and surprises. Englethwaite Hall Caravan and Motorhome Clubsite is one of the quietest, it is away from the fireworks and other scary festivities.

I’m glad you’ve gone somewhere quiet. I live out in what looks like the sticks …but our neighbours (normally nice enough) absolutely love fireworks. Poor cockerpoo here is not happy I can tell you! Keep cosy.

Loved the music choice on the bike through the campsite, the camera stability was excellent so it looked like a flying broomstick scene from a Harry Potter film! Who needs special effects 😊 The plane was a great find too - great idea with the dogs 👍

Not sure if you got gas, but we got some yesterday at Penrith Tool Hire, they have plenty, even the Calor lite that we wanted? They are on Gilwilly industrial estate in Penrith and if you are at Troutbeck Head it’s not too far. Hope this helps.

Useful video as always. Shame the gas shop wasn’t open. Nice to get away this time of year from the hassle and bustle and fireworks - were off over to The Lakes on Saturday for a few days hopefully for some piece and quiet away from the chaos. That lane with the plane will bring you back to the site past the pools and the road past the church after a couple of miles turn left then left again will bring you to the site entrance. Watching one of your past films got us to try this site along with Troutbeck.

Lovely to see Tara again 😊 Fireworks not too bad so far touch wood here, but when you do hear them they are like bombs, my sister and family are over to stay in Liverpool this w/e so i can meet my great nephew, luckily they staying down in the Albert docks, has i said they could not have picked a better weekend 😂

Have you ever thought about Safefill gas cylinders even if you have one and one Calor you would safe a lot. I carry 2 and fill for about £10 compared to £28 with Calor.

Yes, I have often considered refillable, but I always did the cost benefit analysis and never thought we used enough to justify the cost of a refillable cylinder or two. Plus the problem of less places actually doing LPG .

Bob, they had the Safefill on sale at the NEC a couple of weeks ago, don’t know how often you replace your bottles, but at todays prices for gas at Morrisons compared to Calor exchange it would take 11.2 refills to pay for itself. I carry one of each & we do use the oven & gas hobs a fair bit so are now very close to getting even in cost. Once we hit that point, hopefully will be saving around £18 a bottle.

@@BobEarnshawMoHo it certainly is, can't leave room, unless it's lunchtime then there's no where to walk to really, Sheffield city centre not very inviting & most shops shut, in Jury waiting room, there's toilets, a water despencer, cafe not re-opened since Covid, drinks vending machine broken & a TV with one free view channel with Great TV, think I'll need councilling after a other week 😂🤣, glad they don't work weekends 😀
