Last horse I met, that the owner yelled at it. He ended up with a broken orbit (blinding him as he smashed the side of his face) and damaged his front feet at one of the jump shows she took him to. She kept him and every time he was sound for his feet, she'd ride him at jump shows. He was a good horse when she wasn't around, but as soon as he heard her on property, he'd kick, bite, and act up all sorts. The only reason she had him was to ride him in shows. When I left the barn I worked for, she finally sold him to the farm for retirement (he was so sour she couldn't touch him anymore), but she brought in a new trackner for doing shows the same as she did with her blinded horse. I heard later that the horse was taken to a cross country show and died on the course. Was a jump at the top of a hill and then one right at the bottom with only maybe a horse length (if that) from the down side of the hill to set up for the jump there. Friend told me that the poor horse was whipped because he broke his leg and she didn't even care enough until the horse got up and his leg was broken badly. I never saw that horse besides when it arrived, but if she rode him the way she rode the horse I had known. That horse was probably soured, already hurting, and or that last jump was something it possibly didn't have the skill to handle with a angry rider. Seen too many riders who thought they were the best riders and treated their horses like it was the horse's fault for fidgeting, kicking out, and dancing around when the rider couldn't sit still or properly. These riders cuss and yell if they are corrected, the horse gets confused and starts to try to do everything that the rider is telling them to do, then jam the bit to pull the horses head one way or the other because they are getting angry at a poor confused horse who doesn't know why they are being punished for trying.

All I can say is it’s very obvious that Tara has the patience of a saint given how well ALL her animals behave! That is aweful, there was a pony in my village years ago that kicked every horse who got too near . The owner was was a lonely rider in the end. Poor Farouk, horrible for him. Definitely a RED ribbon. Love to you and Farouk.

New subscriber here Tara, I am so happy to have come across you and Farouk...I can, through you both experiance all there is in owning a Horse (I prayed every night of childhood to have a Horse) sadly for many reasons this dream remained a dream...(I'm 68yrs of age) and no likelihood now of that dream coming true....! So thank you so very much Tara for through your wonderful videos I can experience and enjoy being out and about with you and Farouk... Best Wishes....Stay Safe...💚

You are so resilient ! You were able to keep a positive constructive frame in the face of dangerous ignorance. I love the idea of group rides, however you can’t ever let down your guard. Take care.

Bless Farouk...such a sweet boy. Were there any repercussions for the rider's lack of responsible horsemanship? If not, there certainly should be in the future! I'm so thankful that neither you nor Farouk sustained more serious injuries. Much love to you all...😘♥️🐎

I also wonder….what happened afterward? Did the Hosting organization investigate and respond to the incident? In the dog show world, local and National kennel clubs have organizational documents establishing membership, governance, standards, rules procedures, etc., including Consequences for exhibitors and their dogs. I’m sure National, International, and Olympic equine events have governing rules, procedures and consequences for exhibitors and their horses. Isn’t there a similar obligation for equine pleasure riding clubs to have a written structure for membership, rules and procedures, governance, hosting events, Infractions and consequences, etc.?

Honestly to be able to ride trails like this would be such a privilege (we don’t have ones available like this where I live). But after seeing some of the people you come across I’m not sure I would want to ride them after all
@sharonsiegrist71832 жыл бұрын
You were a lot nicer than I would been with her! Poor Carlin he knew what was coming but couldn't get away quick enough. I would have reported her to someone. These people should not be allowed in these rides! Once there's an incident they need to be booted!

Oh my gosh, this was so upsetting to watch! That blasted kick really left a mark. 😢 Props to you and Farouk for staying calm and moving on. What an irresponsible rider that one is. Ugh! I hope you don't encounter her and her dangerous horse ever again. I hope Farouk's *owie* heals quickly and cleanly. 🙏🐴❤️💕

Hi Tara, I am so sorry Farouk was injured by that other horse. The rider did not seem very concerned after the fact. Her horse was a kicker but her shouting at the horse makes me wonder how he is being looked after and trained. Brutal handling = brutal animal. I hope Farouk isn't swollen or bruised and the wound doesn't leave a scar on his coat. That horse had shoes and if it had clipped Farouk on the jaw or side of the head it would have been extremely serious. I hope you told the organizers about the two people on the two chestnuts. ❤ for Farouk.

You’re very kind to an immature bunch of entitled kids who can’t even give way for a faster horse. I’d send her my vet bill for treatment of the wound and I hope all her acquaintances, friends and family sees her actions. The world certainly has. Get well very soon Farouk!

I agree with you Tara, that person knew the horse was a kicker!! I admire how you handled it, but I think I would have made my comment a little louder that her horse needs a (huge) red ribbon on it's tail. I was upset that that happened to Farouk!! I hope that mark on Farouk isn't real bad. I'm still upset, wow. Even tears are coming. I'm sorry it hurt to see that happen. Farouk didn't do anything to that horse he's a champion for sure. Bless him💖🐎🏆

Omgosh that made me so mad and sad at the same time; being SO breathtakingly rude to you and the other riders, putting EVERYONE around her in danger, and then screaming at the animal she quite obviously mistreats…what a nightmare! Can you imagine what she must be like at home???😳😳😳🥺 Giving thanks y’all got home safely…poor Farouk- what a beauty he is through and through. 🥰 And I feel SO sorry for that horse that kicks- wonder why he kicks🧐🧐🧐

Absolutely disgusting behaviour!! What a rude woman. No regard for other riders/horses whatsoever and quite frankly she shouldn't be riding. The fact that there was no reason at all she couldn't have put a ribbon on that horse? Farouk's calmness and confidence is amazing - and you have the patience of a saint!!! I don't think I could have kept my nerve😅👏

I'm shocked, poor Farouk. As you rightly say Tara that could have been worse for Farouk but it also could have been pretty devastating if that kick had caught you. I watched a 24 hours in A&E recently where that exact thing happened and the rider received an absolutely devastating injury xxx
