The dun colored mare with the unweaned cream/pearl filly was my favorite. The filly had that same spark of curiosity and intelligence that Farouk has. I wonder what the "boys" would think of a "girl" coming in their lives. Farouk would probably be very gentle and protective. My second choice was the dark filly from Scotland: she has a very nice conformation and bundles of energy.

I liked the warm blood filly. Nicely put together and beautiful mover. Also although mares can be a little more ‘independent of thought’ at times I find once you make a relationship with them, they’re very loyal and affectionate.

Oh my, that first pearl colt is a beauty... The unweaned foal had lovely movement. The English pearl colt has a very noble head. The warmblood filly looks to be a runner, huge stride - her and Farouk would probably get on like a house on fire!😊 All the very best in your search - looking forward to seeing your final pick. Hope the weather improves. I have been watching the floods in Shrewsbury, I lived there 30 odd years ago. They used to have floods like this, then they put a flood defence in, however, I suspect that due to building on flood planes upstream the River Severn cannot safely overflow onto meadows and wild areas like it used to, so it rises higher down stream and is now over what they predicted the barriers could hold back. Price of progress unfortunately.

Tara, This video is fascinating! I see many parallels to the dog show world. (You may recall I showed dogs in the United States and Canada back in the 1970s.) I loved seeing the different coat colors...many for the first time! My favorite was the warmblood filly at the end. She looks and moves a lot like her mother. When I bought a dog from another breeder......I examined pedigrees, noted the conformation, temperment and movement of individual puppies and their parents according to the breed standard (Lhasa Apso). I observed puppies interacting with each other and asked questions about diet, exercise, coat texture, grooming and social interactions. I viewed their health records and had my own Veterinarian examine the potential puppy before signing the purchase contract. Your search is off to an excellent start! Looking forward to the next update!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I really liked the apricot filly. She looked very fresh and independant for her age. The creme colt seemed to be more skittish and dependant of the other horse (his mum?). Unfortunatly the shine in the pearl colors doesn't "travel" well from sunny Spain to rainy England (or Denmark). I needs the sun to really shine. Exciting to see, what you choose 🌞💕

How exciting!! I bought a P.R.E 2 years ago and it’s the best thing I’ve ever Done in my life with horses. We are competing in dressage 😊 Before I used to ride and own Swedish warmbloods but honestly nothing compares to the mentality of a P.R.E. My advise, tough I know you’re not asking for any, is not to buy a warmblood bred for high level dressage if your goal is to go on hacks and have fun rather than taking lessons etc. Horses with Fürstenball (and other high level staillions) in their pedigrie are sensitive and athletic horses and not all of them can adapt to a life without harder workouts. Ofc as I’ve seen your videos I am well aware of your ability to take care of your horses! They are living their best lives at your place ❤️ I really just want to give you some good advices and my best advice would be to go for the P.R.E. Breed 😊 Also, sorry of you can’t understand my writing. I’m Swedish 😂

It is interesting that you are looking at a warmblood! I had to give up the beautiful Yelena, a Friesian mare, as she was not going to be rideable for up to a year after injuring her stifle. I was willing to put the time in for her rehab but the person I bought her from wouldn't allow it.....long and sad story. However, today I am getting a 16 yo Dutch Warmblood for a week on trial and to do the vet check. She is 16.1 and of a very stocky build like this filly. She has a wonderful temperament and is not a real forward horse......which is what I am looking for as turning 68 in a month. I am looking at doing more hacks here as there is a lot of land available to ride on. It is not as pretty as where you are but I am very hopeful that she will come with a clean bill of health. You are an inspiration to me and many others here.....much appreciation to you and your boys! What will they do with a girl in their midst?? hehehe

Oh! The PEARLS are stunning. My fave is the Pearl yearling first up and the apricot filly with the the beautiful roan? Mare walking on the concrete. The blue eyes! Oh my what a statement! The bay filly would suit competitions because she is sensible and plain, many warm bloods around. But for something that could nearly eclipse Apollo if that’s possible and stop traffic a Pearl horse under saddle being ridden down your lanes and bridleways is an exotic masterpiece. Good luck with your choice. Don’t be sensible ha ha! You could be singing “My baby’s got blue eyes...” as you walk out to the stables in the morning.

I love pretty colors, but my all time favorite horse was a Roman nosed, dog poop brown colored Appaloosa that I worked with at a rescue where we gave lessons to handicapped children. He was by no means attractive, but he was the smartest and most fun to ride horse I've ever met. He was also mean as a snake to just about everyone else, so him liking me definitely raised my appreciation. I could trail ride him with a hater, lead rope and bareback pad. With other riders, he'd sit, use trees to knock them off and BOY did he bite a lot of people. He brought me home once when I'd gotten impossibly lost in the woods. I miss my ugly, mean old horse.

I suspect you are off on your holiday soon (if not already) … I hope you enjoy. It has warmed up here - only -15 this am, and forecast to get warmer over the weekend. The good news - we should not have more than four - six weeks of winter left … the bad news - floods are in the forecast for the spring! Oh well, I think I am safe where I live so am hoping that those who are in the path of flood waters are able to prepare and keep their houses and animals safe.

Lovely choices there. I think you should run a survey on what your followers would choose!! Personally I lean towards the warm blood, probably because that is the type I am more familiar with. The Andalusian's are truly lovely but to my eye the high tail carriage and pale eye is not appealing. Each to their own and love the fact you are showing us your possibilities. I am getting a new puppy in early May. Had to look long and hard to find the 'right dog'. It will be a female Lab to grow up with a big sister Choc lab we already have. Many thanks to you and Rens for taking us horse shopping again. *hugs* I don't know anything about what a vet would see as a concern so this could be nothing but I thought I'd point it out to you. One the very first beauty, a lump on the right leg popped right out at me. I went back to make sure and yes I did see it. Time stamp 0:37-0:39 just under the chest and a little on the inside. Also the back left leg, where it bends(knee), seems far larger than the right one. Time stamp 0:53-0:54 and on the right leg, just above the hoof seems larger but this could just be the camera angle so I would have to have a better look to be sure. His good points are his kind eyes and I honestly after studying like this feel it to be very important that a horse will look at you. He also doesn't seem to spook that bad I seen when the handler shook the rope at him to back up. That virus can wipe out a whole stable! So your vet was spot on when telling you to stay clear of that one. Plus he seems to stumble like Farouk and I think he would be a bit to handle later on in life when he gets his height and weight.

A Fürsten Look/Fürstenball descendant is an exciting prospect, too, though. What a little gem that filly is! Meanwhile, in ‚unrelated news’, we’re going to make a little ‚field trip‘ this weekend. We kinda promised my nephew some snow, back in autumn...and since snow didn’t come to us...we’re going to chase it down. There is a region, slightly higher in altitude, just two hours or so away and we’re going to treck down there tomorrow and built a god darned snowman! Have a little fun, before the Corona Virus gets us all. I‘ve pretty much resigned myself, to getting it now. There’s been a confirmed outbreak near us and with a 5 year old in kindergarten and a sister in law, who works in still another kindergarten...and using public transport every day...there’s no escaping that thing. Not that I‘m too worried - I‘ll probably be one of those people, only getting minor cold symptoms, but I‘m sure not looking forward to being sick for a week or two, just when winter is finally over. And luckily, no one else in the family really is in a ‚risk group‘, either. Ah darn it. On with life, right? 😆
@raraavis77824 жыл бұрын
Louise Cassidy Yeah...I don’t even want to think about that. Will everything just come to a standstill, like in Wuhan? With shops and businesses closing for weeks? On the other hand you can’t just stay home preemptively, or you loose your job. And it’s going to be absolutely everywhere in Europe. How could it not, since they’re still allowing international travel and everything? They could have limited the outbreak to China, but that would have taken immediate and drastic measures weeks ago...and as we know, politicians rather wait and see and then do too little too late. I mean, of course that would have had severe economic consequences as well...but at least, without all the sick and possibly dead. Oh well...hope you have better luck in Australia - you’ve been through enough already this year!

Coucou Tara ! Vous êtes très courageuse de prendre un encore un jeune cheval c’est beaucoup de travail et surtout de régularité. Moi je suis contente avec mes « vieux « de 18 et 26 ans .... jolis poulains , i love cremellos too but i préfère them with brown eyes. And the filly full blood has really a lot of « go »..😘🐴

Found it interesting to observe how differently the horses were handled in Spain and England. I would go for a warm blood, if it were my choice. All young horses are so lovely to watch.

I hope the little warm blood filly proves out. She moves nicely, in a spritely way but she does not seem flighty or over reactice. What a lovely girl!

Wow, Tara!! All that open air "window shopping" for a new companion meaning that y'all spent time with a variety of gorgeous horses. So much fun looking at the many variations in the equine world to choose from and I thought that many of the Moms looked better than their young, energetic youngsters. Other than Friesians, I love the look of two-toned horses where the body is much lighter than the legs, mane, and tale. There is something charming and classy about those variations to me. They remind me of the two toned cars of the 1930s that we would occasionally see in our travels Coast to Coast in the US. Some times collectors found them in mint conditions, but most of buyers' experience was in reclaiming the manufacturers' colors and upholstery. While it must take time and effort driving hither and yon, do you have a large sense of hope and excitement in the search? You and Rens have all the best wishes of people in most time zones of world sending positive energy for your hidden treasure, so we are going to see someone special in the stable eventually. (I won't say that we have baited breath because that always conjures images of people with rat traps clutched in their mouths. Ouch!!!) I loved this weeks video of grooming Apollo. He'd sure the epitome of masculine horsedom, isn't he? So sweet and gorgeous. The short ride looked lovely with the flowers edging the fields and everything so brilliantly green.

Thank you for sharing your video...my top favourite, the colt featured last...my motto, buy the horse you want, if necessary a mounting block, and, the horse can be taught to bow, to let you mount from the ground. Best wishes!

How exciting for you Tara, always good to have what you want in mind, but then again being open minded as you never quite know what might catch your eye 😊 I do have a soft spot for an Andalusian, although as yearlings they’re not always the most stunning looking, I guess that goes for most foals at that age, the warmblood filly really didn’t look much, but at 2 months looked stunning. I guess it’s always going to be a bit of a gamble buying a youngster as you never quite know how they’re going to turn out, although what you will have is the satisfaction of producing it yourself 👍 Good luck with your search and the viewings 😊

"a bit of a gamble buying a youngster as you never quite know how they’re going to turn out" yes that is the difficulty so that's why I think breeding is important even though I don't do competitions 😊

Well, I never got to chose my horse and I know nothing about it except the gait and color. But I love the love the color of the Apricot filly; she seems quite spunky. But then there's the Cream Pearl colt who would be gorgeous next to Apollo! This will be so much fun to see what you finally choose! But then there's the Warm Blood filly who would hopefully be the right height when grown. Glad it's you choosing and not me. I'd bankrupt you getting them all!💓 But at least I got all my meat canning done yesterday, chicken and ground beef; tomorrow is potatoes. Then we wait for peaches to ripen.😛💜
