I agree with what several has said...it did look like an ominous monster with big, dark eyes!! Otherwise, this is a very lovely venue!! Absolutely breathtaking!! So sorry it rained.

It will take time to get use to a building like that it does look kinda scary Bella Bella did good going away from that building Bella is riding beautifully and have a good handle riding Bella is a good girl

There's Bella being a big silly scared sausage again lol. Tara you must feel so proud when people compliment you on Bella's beauty. She really is beautiful though. I love the contrast between her big beautiful dark eyes, mane and tail and her hair/ skin colour. 😊🏇

It would be interesting to see what it would look like from an equines perspective. It could be viewed as a huge predator stalking, or perhaps something she remembers from her past prior to 1 year old. In a couple years, she will go right by them without a fear. And her judgement on when to proceed and when to err in the side of caution will be coming into its own, for Tara to consider in view of her breeds history of walking in new and unknown lands. Keep on traveling Bella!

I'm not surprised Bella didn't like that building. It looked really creepy to me and I can rationalise it. I think I'd have walked around the back of it myself. Pretty sure my dogs wouldn't have liked it either. We have to remember that horses are prey animals and I bet in their wild state they would not walk closely past caves or through dark places because predators could be lurking. Problem is that once the stress hormones are released and the limbic system takes over, then the horse or dog is more easily triggered after that and flight or fight systems are in charge.

Scary thing there! No sense measing about making her go past with the weather so miserable. I imagine you both are quite done with the rain and squishy footing and longing for a clean-up and drying off. ❤️❤️🐎🐎🌧️🌧️🥰🥰🥰

Well done for keeping going. You must both have been soaked through. We could hear the ground squelching🙄. That building did look a bit threatening - no wonder Bella said " no way mum."..❤❤

it looked scary, like two huge eyes staring at poor Bella in shadows. Left side of that shed was OK, without empty door and window. In my country we say ... fear has huge eyes 👀

The 'eye' thing is quite instinctual with animals. Our dog gives the side-eye to anything resembling a face looking at her. It is quite funny at times, though it would definitely NOT be funny on horseback!

Mum I’ve enjoyed myself. I don’t mind the rain or the distance. The other horses are ok and friendly but I did NOT like that scary building. I think there was an echo coming from it I’ll tell Apollo about that and if comes here he can check it out 🐴🐴🐴 a good detour round the back mum 👍

I find it fascinating what worries one horse but not others. Bella certainly has a thing for tall objects and the water tank was rather dark too. Well negotiated Tara, she wasn't bothered about the rear side. There are some lovely horses on this ride. ❤

Bella does get a lot of compliments and I bet you are bursting with pride when you receive them Tara. Monster alert. You just never know with our Bella, what she is going to take exception to. However, I am sure you are always on high alert to coax her through, just like this time. No histrionics, just resort to a slight detour off the path for a moment or too. It was just a blip. Well handled. ❤😊🐎

Those ears made me chuckle 😊😊 always moving, rotating, not missing a thing!! Something you do with your horses is something i really appreciate for their sakes. When an object is coming up from behind you turn them to face the object until it passes. While horses can see pretty much 360 degrees, there is one blind spot directly behind and directly in front that is blind. They have to move their heads, switch from right eye to left. A couple of videos ago you almost ran into a kicker; when i reviewed the video i noticed that the horse's rider turned the horse away from bella. Glad that bella wasn't kicked.

Picking the right conversations to have at the right time! Shes always had a bit of a thing about light and shadows, no point in frightening/upsetting her further with it as you said, especially when she was able to go past on the other side and then decompress after.

I remember Bella at Boltby being very bothered by the dark empty "eyes" of the old building "MUM!!! Monsters 🤡👹👺👻🐗🐍🐊like the dark and the shadows hide their eyes so you never know..."
