Liberation from the cycles of birth and death doesn’t mean never living on earth or the astral or causal worlds again and permanently being formless united with God. It means you are free and at liberty to travel through all spheres of being at will with no restriction while also being totally merged with the formless Lord at the same time. It doesn’t just mean exemption, it also means total control. It’s not talked about as much because it is hard for us to even comprehend such monumental stature. You cannot place any limits on great yogis like Yogananda, what seems like a restriction to us is only another freedom for them. The ability to evolve into the states of the highest spheres at will and the ability to involute to the states of the lowest spheres at will (not by compulsion as is the case with the rest of us) are equal in the eyes of the fully liberated ones. How else would they be able to save us ?

Services to humanity consume lots of energy, organisation -influence- financial challenges-public Communication etc etc. A Yogi who loves God can't enjoy his alone time with God because of his karma. Perhaps he misses those opportunities. So he planned Reincarnation. Because Running an Organisation from scratch to glory takes away a lots of time and energy. I studied Yogananda, i studied the Bible and i studied what Yogananda explains about Jesus and the Bible for a long time to find out whom i should follow. Yogananda, as all Hindus do, integrates holy people and sees rhe through the eyes of a Hindu educated person. I found out that the difference of Yoganandas teaching and the Gospel of Jesus is huge but as long as i avoided to study the Bible myselfe i could not recignize this important difference. E.g.: Who of you knows Jesaja 53? It is written 700 years b.C.

Yogananda wrote in his autobiography how he built a temple by the sea. When a storm came, the sea swallowed up this temple. The yogi talked a lot about Jesus, but he didn't really know Matthew 7:24. Jesus said this: "Whoever therefore hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on a rock. And it rained, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house; but it did not fall, because it was founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand." Yogananda put himself on a par with Jesus. Jesus calls them foolish people.
