The original meaning of this song: The 13th century poet Purandara Daasa who is a metaphorical genius is comparing his body to an earthen pot (bindigé). In the main verse(chorus), the poet asks a woman (seemingly his sister) to fetch his pot. He says even if the pot breaks, there's no loss. What he actually meant was, even if his body dies it doesn't matter as the soul can be reborn in a different body and can be used to attain divinity (moksha). In the first stanza he says that the pot will be filled with water full of essence of God's divine name (Raama naama) and he also says that he won't get trapped by seductive women ( he means "Maaya" which are worldly illusions). In the second stanza he describes the quality of the water and he says it is equal to the liquid of immortality or "Amrutha"(He means that the remembrance of the divinity leads to eternal peace and tranquility). In the last stanza he says that he will go to the place of the worship (Bindu Madhava ghat) and he will bathe the lord Purandara Vitthala with the water that he fetched before ( meaning that he praises the lord with divine songs and verses).
