well done mate! is your solution for the stick ends any longer than the stock ones? i hate the stock ones for being short as fck... so I'd like to see a video on (longer) stick end mods for the Taranis X9D Plus SE :)

Thank you +Fliptality! The stick ends can't go longer than the stock ones. Their design is similar and the threaded shaft of the M9 gimbals remains the same. Your best bet would be M4 threaded one-piece sticks, so that you can extend them further. Haven't looked if there are any options available for this size and type.

yes I found some one piece sticks on hobbyking.com that work okay... the are quite thin and really long, but still better than the short ones that came stock. :) I have small hands sadly, so the stock ones dont really work for me

If it was cause by a firmware upgrade, there must be a way to re-flash and fix the problem you are having. But if you were going to upgrade anyway, then OK. The X9D will last you a looooooooooong time :)

Awesome looking transmitter! (i ordered the realacc nut&stick set from BG a while back and the nuts wont fit my TaranisX9D+ seems i have other threads) stick ends did fit nicely.

I am pretty sure it will not be hard to find. There are plenty of 2.4GHz antennas on Ebay and AliExpress. I have not used an SMA one in order to suggest it to you.

Im not sure, I have not recieved it yet but on get fpv it says sma along with horus rc and other providers.

Yes, it does. It also says that an adapter is included, so maybe the adapter is used to screw an RP-SMA antenna on/off/on/off without wearing out the SMA connector of the Taranis. So when the RP-SMA wears out you just replace the adapter. Just speculating here, don't take this for granted.

I have never used any of the FlySky transmitters so I cannot help you with that. I am only using FrSky.

I assume you just got the excess tint with a razor blade?

I trimmed it with a blade, yes. You can remove it and put it back on until you are done trimming. Then you can squeegee it and leave it to stick.

I got it done - it looks awesome. I used 3M VLT tint off eBay that came in 4"x6" sheets. Cut it down just a bit and applied with water like you did. I tried a razor blade, but like you said it was quite difficult to get around the edges. I tried again, but with an Olfa knife this time. Super easy and it came out perfect. I trimmed it right there on the transmitter. I had quite a few micro bubbles that would have been a nightmare to get out using the squeegee, but I noticed this morning they are all gone and it looks fantastic. If I remember correctly I started the cut with scissors and traced around the display with a sharp blade. Haven't used tint film much so your mileage may vary, mine was fairly easy to cut.

You should check out the Visaton BF32 8 ohm 2W speaker as a replacement for the stock Taranis speaker. Like your mod, requires an adapter. Several different styles are available on Thingiverse. I used this adapter www.thingiverse.com/thing:569061. The difference is dramatic.

Damn, I have already ordered 2 more other speakers, not something specific, whatever I could find at these specs. I will keep in mind the Visaton for the next time I get speakers, although I looked a bit into it and could only find it from vendors with expensive shipping (ends up approx. EUR 17 per piece which is a lot).

It's a shame when shipping is actually more than the cost of the part. Just searching on-line indicates that the speaker is available from a source in Germany for $13.36 + $7.50 shipping. Don't know if that is helpful. The speaker is also available on Amazon for $8.50 + $5.95 shipping here in the USA.
