I too wish I didn’t like Target, but even for disabled I people, it makes strives. It is one of the only super accessible stores that offer clothing for my 8 year old nephew that easily allows him to get tube feedings at school, and it recently came out with a children line for shoes that allow enough room for leg braces and foot braces. It’s the little things that make many lives easier by being able to just pick up from the store.
@lj-nq7ck2 жыл бұрын
Interesting enough, I believe that this may have to do with their close association with Michael Graves. Before his death, he was a major trailblazer in accessibility in medical facilities and ADA guideline enforcement. So glad that your nephew is able to get clothing there that is adaptable! I have a lot of stuff from Opalhouse in my bedroom! Especially their bedding. I don't love the way it's styled on the Target website but I really love it for my bedroom, and it's good quality. I feel like there's a hole in the market between cheap-quality dorm-room type decor (like Urban Outfitters or Target's room essentials line) and then higher quality "adult" decor that's still affordable. Especially because so much of the "adult" stuff is the same modern minimalist style! You can still like color and funky silhouettes after you no longer live in a dorm room!

That’s the Alessi teakettle, and it whistles like a bird! Michael Graves actually first designed the kettle for Alessi, a high-end Italian kitchenware manufacturer, in the 80s. Target really liked Graves’ design and asked him to design a knockoff version for mass production. Alessi works with external designers who are all about breaking design norms and embracing originality, even if they think the public wouldn’t care about it. Michael Graves designed the iconic teakettle to be more than its utilitarian purpose (to boil water) and disrupted the public’s expectations of what a teakettle was. He turned a boring kitchen item into an experience, something that is beautiful to look at and delightful to use! The original teakettle has been Alessi’s bestselling product for decades because of its timeless yet distinctive design. Alessi reminds me of what Paige says about finding unique pieces! They are basically the opposite mass production and cheap quality, it’s so interesting that Michael Graves is the first to collaborate with Target 😯

We put a stop to that real quick! I mean people still do it a little but they can't buy full carts and attack people anymore. LOL Why are people so greedy?
