You missed one thing about flash you can nail your buddies even if they aren't looking at you with the flash from a fairly broad angle got my buddy with this while firing from behind him and to his left while we were both pointing the same direction.

When i started playing tarkov about a month ago, i didn't know this gun existed yet, so, i hopped onto factory with pretty solid gear, killed two players, and then i went into the office area, well, i opened the door and there was a dude standing right behind it with this shotgun, he basically blasted the flashbang right into my face POINT BLANK. I screamed so hard i could hear my goddamn neighbor jump off of his chair lmao

It’s not that bad in real life, but it’s only fairly accurate. It’s a stereotypical shotgun that gets portrayed in movies, made into reality by Soviet engineering. Close/medium quarters machine of body annihilating firepower. Great for Urban combat, but the morality/legality is questionable. It may be a quick death, but it’s sure as hell going to be gross and grotesque.

@@Deak-tj4ml lmao not even close, the engine block of a car on top of the metal in front and spacing is equivalent of around 30mm RHA at minimum, the barricade slug can punch through the engine block at 100 meters, come out the other end, spall the engine into the passengers killing or wounding, and go out the other end of the car. Any personnel should be dropped in one shot up to about 300 meters

I'd have like to see some armor testing with the buckshot. In a customs raid at 25ish meters I zeroed a killa in 3 shots killing the wearer. It would be interesting to see if the buckshot is better at armor penetration than the slugs and more effective at range overall

The OP part is an on demand instant flashbang. There needs to be some kind padding in the activation of the flash. It should travel a certain distances out of the gun before the effect activates(like 5-10 metres), making getting the sweet spot on your distance a bit more tricky. Like FLAK rounds. Once the round has traveled beyond this minimum distance, it explodes for a 360 degree flash affecting the "caster" with a minor flash if they do not shield their own vision. These flash rounds should be designed for a two man team as a utility. Flasher and bagger.

bro thats literally how the round works in real life, the flash effect is coming straight out of the barrel, you are essentially using the muzzle flash to blind them, and it also flashes yourself when you use it...

I personally think the star slugs are fine, in my 2 wipes. Mostly on factory since I have recently upgraded. I have only been a victim of flash grenades like 4 times. I'm happy that using utility is viable.

flash nade is 8k and takes while to throw and almost never fully flashes, this shit travels hyper fast costs nothing and fully blinds really quick if they shoot anywhere near you. This is not just utility it's just deadass the best thing to use right now especially if ur running in a squad.

I dont know if it was a bug but i was running only star rounds and played multiple rounds... i managed to kill a scav and a pmcs with the star round? I was very close and the flashbang effect didnt happen but in the stats at the end i saw that i got 8 hits with 1 shot so it must have been pallets... however i reviewed my shadowplay footage and can 100% confirm that i only used star rounds maybe they have a chance to fail?

Star rounds look like a fix for exit camping factory, and one hell of a surprise for shotgunners to bring on night raids. Also a defense option considering shotguns have very long reloads that are easy to push, plus the trouble you have to go through to mix your magazines or having to bring along a 2nd gun just to flash someone. Zero complaints.

Shot Killa 4 times in the legs (x2 in each) with Barricade and he pulled out a Salewa _to my face_ and healed back up. Did another run with Shrapnel 25 and did it in two hits. I think the Barricade rounds are generally awful.

most people will say yes, or tell you to use slugs (most prominently AP-20), I think with this one the shrapnel shells may be fine either way because they should eat through armor quickly with that much damage

The barricade slugs can punch all the way through the engine block of a car at 100 meters IRL, go out the back, and spall the engine out into everyone in the vehicle most likely killing or wounding the passengers. It should immediately annihilate any personnel it hits directly up to 300 meters. It also has relatively high accuracy with a spread of about 1 meter from the target at 350 meters, the rifling aids this significantly.

The only accurate thing to KS-23 documentation here is the round being able to damage an engine block (and even then no one has seen footage of this). Everything else is conjecture.

@Mr. Spider Nothing about documentation, used one, had a PU scope too, and that slug works wonders. And yeah on a junk car the slug went right through the engine and shredded the seats with shrapnel. On something bigger probably not but it would still wreck the engine, either way on people there's no issue.

@@IkeanCrusader1013 Ah, that's a pity. And yeah, the homemade ammo used by youtubers like Garand Thumb come from the customized TOZ-123 (turned into a KS-23 lookalike) made by Kjaskaar, which uses upsized but otherwise regular slugs rather than the steel projectiles from the barrikada.

I don't think you understand what "stopped" means. If an armor fails and the player wearing said armor dies on the third slug, then 2 rounds were stopped, not three.

@Chris Collins but he’s right, the ammunition is weaker than compared to real life counterpart, both in terms of damage and accuracy, the effective range of this "carbine" (in russia it is classified as a carbine) is 150 meters, that is, at least 150 meters should have reasonable accuracy (another thing that left me disappointed was that bsg did not add the ks 23 optic sight to the game)

@Chris Collins as far as i know there is no specific ammunition just for mosin, including it uses the same ammunition as svd, svd being a much better rifle than mosin and the concern is whether a "worse" weapon can fire a good caliber, and the same discussion does not exist when you have a really good weapon that can fire that caliber (that is, it’s supposed to be much more deadly, but I don’t see anyone complaining about the svd being overpowerd)
