I think one thing that would help out the companies would be if they could buy up buildings from other investors. Particularly, something like they take failing or less efficient building, buy them up, then make them (more) profitable by granting them their bonuses. it could also be used to buy up underperforming facilities and just shutter them, acting as a kind of refund on the building. To give a historical example. Standard Oil during it's rise and hayday would buy up all the oil wells and refineries it could. Those which were profitable or could be quickly made profitable were kept, while those which either weren't or couldn't be made profitable quickly would be shuttered and saved for later when they could be made profitable, or when demand rose high enough to make them profitable. If Companies are made even more interesting and become actors in themselves, with leaders and being able to interfere in politics on local, national, and international scales, then it could go further them altering their strategy for their ends. Like, one could be lead by a hardcore monopolist who tries to buy up all the buildings in the industry he can, then shutters or purposefully restricts supply to drive up prices. Another could be a philanthropic type who makes his business profitable, but tries to ensure his workers are paid the best and are happy. Hell, maybe some companies have alternative ownership structures allowing for a more cooperatively run company. Not necessarily the most historical from what I know, but could be cool, seeing companies with varying structures and organization to give them more flavor and nuance.

I been waiting for that since it was released. The warfare system is still so BAD and boring. Right now i rate VIC3 a 4/10 with the current warfare, without it 9/10. I have 400 hrs on it.

@@arturo0727ikr, and people are not even necessary asking for the return of stack micro, just make the current system less buggy, more interactive, add supplies etc… that would make a huge difference. The game is out 2 years ffs.

15:39 ahh yes because companies are known for long term planning and sustainable development. They don't even care about the shareholder's quick term profits that much

Historically no, aslong as its germany or some small british ones,if you look to germany, friedrich krupp and any compnay made around 1930 were mainly focussed on output and efficiency, brits on building affordable housing.

I think it would be cool if there would be laws that dictate who can join the army. Like one model where the officers are you're primary culture, with discrimataed pops filling in the lower ranks, giving you a morale malus but you have the bigger pool of recruits. On the Other hand the army that only accepts pops with high acceptance, giving a moral boost. (Or something else, doesn't need to be morale) Additionally, could there something like "Servive guarantees Citizineship"? Not sure if this is to meme-y, but having a boost to acceptance for pops who serve in the military seems like a flavorful addition.

From my limited time playing the new patch, this tracks. I kinda regret paying for the full expansion since the EIC specifically is very uninteresting to me gameplay-wise, and I definitely thought Sikh and the other tags in India were getting stuff too. But w/e, I'll get $10 of enjoyment out of it when I eventually play Hindustan. Compared to HOI4's recent dlc price, this is fine. Bummed to hear you won't be doing more Vic3 videos any time soon tho

Honestly, I always prefer spreading my buildings out if I can. If nothing else, market access price is a good reason. In fact, I think Paradox might prefer it. Look at how buildings like the university grant qualifications to the state its built-in and admin buildings tax income. I don't know, I tend not to be super minmaxy, and in what ways I do is mostly SOL and Tech and politics and not so much conquest. Like I know how effective it is. But I am not ever conquering Beijing or Java or some other huge population state, because why in the good fuck would the country I am playing as do that most of the time? Like don't get me wrong the fact some level of change from irl history is part of the appeal, but when it comes to things the player is not causing, I prefer them to be at least somewhat reasonable or at least within the ballpark there of and tend to keep my conquests that way too. But hey, at my prefer conquering play style of subject swarm got indirectly buffed by annexation getting nerfes.

The only reason role-play wise would probably be as Russia or Japan. I agree that there should be some level of believability.

just more examples of why Vic 3 has a problem. A lot of historically accurate laws/practices *were* suboptimal, so outside of roleplay you would never do them. imo if they wanted to do a game in this setting instead of making you control the whole nation they should have scaled it down so you are like, a single merchant or whatever trying to deal with these wider culture things but not immediately control them. otherwise the game just feels like 'wow everyone who didnt do modernization is a moron' simulator.

Game needs a lot more than local flavor. No real interest in anything like this until the game itself improves a lot.
