The car has a major issue: it does not have a differential. Simply putting a bit of strain on the engine can cause the joints to break. Moreover, if you happen to crash into a wall for just a few seconds and keep the engine revved, it can lead to catastrophic damage. This flaw makes it particularly challenging for those without experience in driving RC models, as it's likely to break almost immediately under such conditions.
@EngineeringNS Жыл бұрын
Great video! I'm glad you got around to making one! I agree I should have made the tolerances tighter. I think my printers are a bit sloppy they are getting old--Its difficult to nail down good tolerances with a design because everyone's printers are different--But I have had a lot of people tell me that they have had the same issue so I am probably a bit too far off to one end of the spectrum. Even your CV axles were way too loose, they are supposed to be a tight fit they shouldn't rattle like that. I guess this is the first time I've gotten to see one of my designs in detail from someone else' printer normally I have to go off of written feedback. Also I should note you're only supposed to use two rods, I have the third hole there, but its not needed--I see now how confusing that must be. But you can slightly reduce the weight by removing the third threaded rod.

One thing that would be cool, to add some bushing counter-bores on all of the suspension components so that you don't have that rod end just digging into the plastic. Or maybe use a smooth shaft with a keeper screw at the end like traditional RC's. Anyways, interesting build. Thanks for sharing!

amazing build brother! now it would be great (and this is just an idea/suggestion) if you could fit conventional bodies on top of it. This 'chassis' provides a stable solution as is, but it also feels 'empty' as is if you catch my drift. its not something negative just something i would love to do with a build like this.

There's a van body that you can print for the top but I'm not certain how it attaches... kinda seems like an afterthought. It wouldn't take too much work to develop a mount for a traditional body though.

@rcprinter hey man. Are these your designs? I'd only need the stl files as I have a few k in parts and shipping from the us to Canada for the parts kits costs a fortune. I'd still pay well for the files as I know the work involved in making them. I'm starting a non-profit rc park. I have a 3 month hospital stay coming up and I'd like to get about 10 more rcs built. 5 pairs. So 5 sets of stl files x2 of a price at your rate. I'd post the complete builds to my channel to show everything is on the up and up. Just so you'd know I'm not trying to pull a fast one. I want to have about 30 rcs for people to try before they buy new ones I'd point to your site.
