The concept of the commander is so fun and powerful, unfortunately the deck has to be rebuilt from the ground up. I went for Lhurgoyf tribal with all the possible creatures of that type + shapeshifters. Other mechanics that works well outside of self mill are loot and surveil, some cards I have seen being overlooked on EDHREC are the ones that let you time the moment in which a creature card enters the graveyard, like currency converter and mimic vat. On the loot side, also Matzalantli and geier reach sanitarium. For precise creature entombing, old stickfingers is very very good.

I really like Rukarumel for Tribal Tribal.

Lhurgoyf is iconic. It's flavor text has been the source of many the early day funnies, Safi and Hans both were printed as legends later on, the dude getting nommed by the goyf is kinda funny looking, it was a beater back in the day as graveyard hate did not exist and it was just kinda fun. For 7 mana it's 6 for 2, 19/19, etc. Even in commander that seems like a wildly efficient card. Also it makes voltron players cry even more than they already do.
@dam493655 ай бұрын
My problem with Coram is that almost all the cards you want in a Coram deck, is Black or Green, maybe if you only care about milling and then Attacking/ Flinging Coram the deck works. Otherwise its just a golgari deck with a sprinkle of red.
@shayneweyker5 ай бұрын
Disa will be great with a bunch of efficient dredge creatures and the most efficient payoffs for having lots of stuff in your graveyard like Kessig Cagebreakers. Also play Maskwood Nexus so every creature you mill or discard reanimates. Play and discard-then-draw spells and Tortured Existence to synergize with dredge and Disa's trigger. Not a Lhurgoyf but maybe worth including: Revenant (flying, P/T=creatures in your graveyard) and Nighthowler (bestow creature with P/T=# of creatures in all graves). Finally, Lord of Extinction also has P/T equal to number of cards in graveyards, not what Tomer said.
@jackrosen15 ай бұрын
One reason to maybe play talisman's over normal sorcery ramp is that you want to keep your card types balanced so your goyfs get as big as possible. Probably niche with four players, but if you are mainly self-milling than it would probably at least balance out the percentage lost not optimizing ramp.

I fear the ‘’casual introduction to Magic’’ (via precon) is getting closer to that point. I preorder all Precon sets since Lost caverns of Ixilan (i started playing at that moment) and as someone who enjoys casual games and like to see peoples deck do their things…. I don’t believe a 7 mana easily disrupted combo that requires a lot of set up is all that good tbh. However, Buried Alive = tutor three goyf onto the battlefield (or any creatures if your tribal hacks are online) Also, now there are 9 cards types so you’re creating 3x 9/10 tokens if you hit all three opponents and there’s enough of a graveyard.

The goyf stuff is not busted at all. It is still a very limited archetype. There's not enough cards to support it...still. hard pass just all over hype

I don't understand why final act doesn't exile it has weaker modes than farewell and was in a powered up commander product rather than standard

So…funny thing. Tempt with mayhem will create infinite treasures with stormkiln artist. Make sure another instant/sorcery is on the stack, then just choose tempt with mayhem OVER AND OVER until you need to stop. 🤷🏻

Not how that works.

This is probably the worst precon I have seen in a while. The deck as is barely functions.

I'm tired of the way you darn millennials say the word "Boomer." Show some respect.

Calling you out on your MTG Boomer hate. You should know better. Do better.

regarding bituminous blast, instant speed cascade 5 kill something is powerful if you don't main phase your instants like many still do, violent outburst is "boomer" jund and was banned THIS YEAR in modern. pretending this is just for oldheads is just naive.

WotC language "sanitation" is so weird. What the heck is wrong with the word tribal...

Wow, boomer players huh, never seen a 60 - 80 year old guy playing magic, maybe 50, but I guess they must be out there.

in today's world, i come across the term "Boomer" being used to identify anyone who doesn't follow the ideology of an online influencer or the current trends of the younger generation making tik tak videos. So if you're in your mid 40s like myself, you're a boomer. But according to my 12 year old daughter, I'm ancient. lol

I know you are pretty young, but the number of "Boomers" (Baby boomers are born between 1946 and 1964) that actually play MTG was never very high (when I was at WOTC it constituted less than 1% of the player base) and I doubt it has spiked very much since then. That said, "Boomer" doesn't mean old. Its also insulting. Please increase your vocabulary.
