Here's is something very important I want you to know. Our culture (modernized culture, mostly Western culture) trains us to be disconnected from our bodies. Our culture trains us to view our bodies as external objects as an outside observer. Our culture trains to look to outside experts to fix us, fix our body issues but doesn't train us to connect with our own body, own sensory experience, "listen" to our body, feel our body, and learn from our inner intelligence. This is cultural influence on our beliefs influences our behaviors. Many people believe that they need more information in order to overcome their limitations and challenges. Many believe that they just haven't found the "right" information yet so keep seeking outside for their answer. Reality is that we have too much information, and we are so disconnected from our own body and experience. It's easy to view my videos as another exercise video, and approach it from that mindset, that is to approach your body like fixing mechanical parts that lie external to you. Then, you are really missing the point. This is not a conventional way of thinking in Western culture, so it's easy to let my message pass through you. But, don't worry! I am persistent and will repeat over and over and over:) I'm not here to teach you exercises to correct your body structures. I am here to help you connect with YOUR BODY, YOUR SENSORY EXPERIENCE, learn from YOUR BODY, and create a new way of movng, using yourself, being in your body! This paradigm shift is necessary for transformation, changes in your nervous system, movement patterns, quality of life because your body and mind are one! I really encourage you to keep this message in your mind as you watch my videos and practice movement!

I have cptsd from a 14 year long abusive relationship. I'm out and safe (3 years now) but when I lay down, my neck, head, face & jaw muscles start clenching to the point they are on FIRE. This exercise has helped immensely!! I do a lot of driving for work so this makes sense too! THANK YOU! Sweet relief!! 🥰🙏🏻

Thank you so much for your comment! For movement practice to be effective, movement/exercise does not have to be complicated. In fact, most of time movement/exercise can be quite simple. More importantly we need to learn how to pay attention to our own body and movement patterns. Attention and mindfulness are more important to improve our functions.

I've read the other comments on the instant relief after doing these exercises. I had the same results, 70% less stress in my neck and shoulders after watching (and doing) this video after years of trying other methods. Also the video on squats. 👍

This is a fascinating exercise, my shoulder pain ease at least 70% right away and the range of motion is much better. Also the ease and fluidity of movement. Thank you! Your other videos are really good too and short enough to take it at breaks in anytime of the day.

Thank you so much for sharing this! After a couple of decades of problems with the ange I can comfortably use my right arm/shoulder, this seems to have helped . I had no pain laying on it during the night! I am now a subscriber and will try other exercises you have in the future. This is an exercise I haven't seen anywhere else, and so easy to perform!

I've had scoliosis all my life and I did your exercises from your three scoliosis videos and found my neck stiffening up, so of course I had to continue on with this one and it has worked wonders. Scoliosis ones definitely made a difference in my height of my left shoulder versus my right. I've been doing the morning stretch also and having a lot lot less low back and leg pain. Your videos are real God send to me. Thank you so much

Thanks Taro. Finally had a chance to try it. Will be more tolerant of traffic jams thanks to you. I work on the pelvic movements you showed a while ago while driving. Now there’s more, and God Knows there’s painful tension building up on shoulders and neck while driving, and the feeling of exhaustion following when really all the body did was sit and drive! Oh well, thanks again. m

This was useful, so thank you. I like the idea of unwiring habitual movement patterns in the shoulders the way you started with. But what you said about how it's not really possible to let the shoulders drop unless the supporting structures are aligned correctly, this was an even more powerful concept, because I have noticed this in the past, but don't always connect poor lower alignment with latent shoulder tension. It was the reminder I've needed, along with your other shoulder tension video, as I've been working on range of movement and flexibility, and often react to deep tensions and pains with self massage and stretching, which as you point out, is endless and doesn't move you forward. In fact it definitely makes it worse, as you are effectively pulling against yourself, and if poortly aligned, making the situation worse for areas that are already sore from being over burdened or inflamed. Thanks once again, new fan here, and not surprised you are building some nice numbers, congrats

Have had headaches, neck pain and limited rotation of my head due to extreme tightness for many years. In more recent times have pain in the right shoulder. Did not do anything to injure the shoulder and now realise from your video instructions it is likely the constant use of the computer and the tension as a result. I liked this video a lot. My neck always has pain and I never realized how my posture and how I hold my shoulders and elbow ware so important to be aware of. I’m 63 and it was time for some rewording.

This is more difficult than other videos. I use a walker and I know when I'm tired I use it improperly, putting my weight on the walker. I got relief from this, for sure. It's going to take some work to get the motions down. I'm excited to see improvement.
