Genuine question… with the first set up, would it not make more sense to put the ridge line lower down and peg the corners out wider? I feel like this would make the area under the tarp feel more spacious, especially if you only plan on sleeping or sitting under it.

Absolutely, lowering the ridgeline would massively increase the area underneath the tarp. It would restrict head room, but it would be the better option in regard to sleeping under it. I only had it up so high as it was my first time setting up in that area.😂
