I’d love it if you had a playlist - tarp to tent. Just had my 10x10 tarp outside and forgot all I’d seen. Your style of teaching is really good, slow and thorough so if you did this I’m sure we’d remember more. Cheers from Australia 😊

I use a 10x10 piece of tyvek that I have folded and taped the edges and added grommets. It'll fit in a canteen carrier, is stupid tough, and very light. The only drawback is that it's white, and can't be dyed. It's noisy until it's drawn tight. But, I've used it for 5 years, year round, without any failures. Thanks for the knowledge, brother.

blackoracle69 Blackie, not to take away from your channel because you have taught me a LOT over the past five years now. Just wanted to throw out there Reallybigmonkey1 covers a bunch of tarp configurations. And seeing as you have this as a pt1, I know the other parts are going to be great. Any new books in your library to recommend? Or better yet, when are you going to sit down and write one? And a side note from my limited but growing knowledge, if your putting a cheap tarp on the ground have two, one on the bottom to get beat up and the other to keep the water out. When I say cheap I mean cheap, I can go to Ollies and get 9x7's for .99, I've used them to set up shelters in the yard for the kids. They are thin but if the kids tear them its no big loss. Or I use them for other things like winter time I cover the car, my truck with the thin ones, and the drive way with larger thicker ones. Get up in the morning, pull the tarp off the vehicle, rope handles on the one on the drive way just roll it over. In less than 10 minutes the drive way's clear and no scraping ice or defrosting doors frozen shut.

A lot of good info. There isn't a "One Size Fits All" when it comes to tarps. Good explanation on why that's the case. Great point regarding tarps & using them as ground cloths. Looking forward to part 2. Thanks for sharing.

Say Heah Blackie, what's your opinion on the Blue Tarps, I got (3) of them, they are heavier than the thin tarps like yours, but on the instructions it does mention camping even though most people use them to cover grills and cars, and cycles. I've used mine on a debris shelter and covered it with my Blue Tarp, the tarps I have are two large, 16'X12' and 12'X10' ?, your opinion will be valued, Thanx in advance Blackie.
@BLACKIETHOMAS9 жыл бұрын
paulie 4x the blue tarps work well in the short term... if like you say there are being used for debris shelter covers they last longer..what i have seen with these tarps is that the **fabric** does not hold up to U.V. very well so left out in the sun they will rot in a few months..thanks for the comments..safe journeys
