This Kings Indian defense looks strange, but I've been using it lately and it works surprisingly well, and many lower-rated players don't know what to make of it. I'm also tired of the Stafford and the 4 Knights scenarios and this is a fun change from all that. Plus, the Kings Indian defense can be used against any white opening.

Enjoying looking at the games🙏 I’m an old beginner in my early 60s and have a question about this series so far. Not much of this is what I think of as the KID since that’s a defense for d4 not e4 (aside from some transpositions). This response to e4 is the Modern, and seems to be the most common variation, or maybe is it a naming difference that happens sometimes (I’m in the USA)? Point being at 0:22 isn’t the most common response for white h3 to stop black’s bishop from pinning the knight? Thx in advance for any clarifying replies.

Based on your videos, Fischer must be correct about e4 being best by test since hardly anyone plays d4.

First? BTW Alex in my tournament game last night I crushed a 1750 as black playing a caro exchange variation where they play c4 on move 5. Couldn't have gotten the win without learning from your great videos. Thank you good sir!
