Great tips! I never thought of soaking paperwork containing private info in a bucket of water when our old shredder kicked the bucket. However, I'm glad we replaced our shredder instead.

Can you recommend an easy, quick, and convenient digital filing system to store and access all the paper you are stating to get rid of? I would like this to include all monthly statements received from anywhere, so it would not have to force me to go to each individual website each time I wanted to see a monthly statement, whether it be for credit cards, utilities, investments, etc. Also, Suggestions for power failures that last days and Internet down time of your ISP in accessing the digital data. Thank you.

Hi Eydie! I have heard really good things about the Simply Wise app (it is paid though at $20/year). I've also heard the Prism app is great - and free. I use Mint.com, which I love, but it's more so for banking. I'm not sure about seeing your data when you are offline though. I'll check around!

Great info, My biggest challenge is catalogs. I tried to minimize the intake with a service call Catalog Choice with moderate success. Do you recommend a service to reduce the Influx of catalogs or a method I could take on my own to eliminate my issue? Thank You in advance.

Thank you! For catalogs - there is one company that manages most catalog databases. You can email them and ask to be removed from their marketing database: [e-mail]. It takes several weeks but this should make a big change and it's totally free! You can also contact each catalog directly but of course that will take more time. I'm going to email Epsilon myself right now - I do this often to be sure my name doesn't somehow end back up on these lists :)
