I do the same thing. I think the item and then I like to think that somebody else will enjoy it like I did and give it to the thrift store. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I think it's actually helpful on a lot of levels. 😊

I made a small bedroom into a walk-in closet for pantry and storage items and it saved my life. I just love it. No more stuff in the bathroom or kitchen that don't need to be there, but plenty of things on hand including laundry supplies that aren't being used in the moment. Great way to store seasonal clothing! Great way to pair the kitchen down to what you use all the time. If you can put in a walk-in closet with storage, it's something you might want to consider because it really was a life changer. Yay! 😂❤😊

Oh I so agree with you as far as kitchen space. I have close girlfriends that have extremely cluttered kitchens and the effect it has on them mentally and physically is really awful. They don't cook because they really honestly isn't space for it. So they buy prepared foods and take out foods and that's what they live off from. And it really isn't because they can't cook. Because again they're great Cooks but.... Yep! Huge impact to have a kitchen that you love. That's comfortable to make meals in. 😊

I am a strong proponent of batch cooking! I'm a senior and spending two days a month cooking up meats and making a couple of salads a week keeps me on a very healthy diet. No need for any takeout. No need for having to cook everyday. I just label and freeze things! So easy and it's nice especially because I don't have the energy and time to cook a nice meal every night. Just works out better all the way around and if somebody comes over for dinner. Voila you just take something out of the freezer. 😊❤

No, don’t get rid of a child’s items without permission. That is betrayal. Treat kids with dignity.

“Cheap” is subjective. For example, IKEA is not expensive and the furnishings can, and do, look very high end and sophisticated when arranged in a cohesive way. Not ALL inexpensive things are “cheap”. Dollar Tree is absolutely inexpensive, yet with a bit of ingenuity the items bought from there can look very sophisticated. Live in your home the way that makes you happy because in the end, you are the one who sees it all the time. Who cares what others think?

Someone was JUST over to our home. She commented on my "fake" flower arrangement that I had made for Christmas. Immediately after she left I took it apart. When my husband came home he told me he hoped I'd reconsider and put it back together because it was nice and I liked it. But no...one comment ruined it for me. 😅

I purposefully save those odd vases from delivered floral arrangements. The range of sizes is perfect for any wrapped flowers I buy, or are gifted. Also, if money is tight I can buy a $10-15 bouquet and make an arrangement that looks like $50 to cheer a loved one.

Number 1 tip is. Keep active. I am 70 years old, and I swim for 1-hour 3/4 times per week. I deep clean my 2200 square foot home from washing windows inside and out, clean all window tracks. Move all my furniture, clean under. I move all my appliances and clean them as well as behind them. After cleaning my home, I deep clean my garage, take everything out and wash the epoxy floor. I clean and wipe down all cabinets, drawers and closets. Your body needs to move so keep active and watch your weight and you will live a long time. My dr said I will live to 100. I deep clean every 7 weeks.

Was slightly distracted by your kitchen cabinet. Since you have adjustable shelves, have you thought of having more shelves cut for your cabinets? We have a small kitchen, so I've learned to use every square inch of space, and having extra shelves added was a game-changer. No need to stack stuff on top of each other or add risers.

Great Job, girl! Every point is valid, except for one. The backsplash! I was waiting for you to give an alternative!.... Having nothing there triggered by OCD.....lol having bare walls there is a cleaning problem, too. Actually, it is a nightmare.... you will be painting and repainting unless you don't cook... then great! But if you like to cook, you should be concerned about giving love to your family, not a wall....lol

If you are keeping sentimental items for yourself - fine. If you are keeping sentimental items for your children or others... I suggest that you either give them the items to enjoy NOW or talk to them about the item. You might be surprised that grandma's china is not something your newly married daughter has sentimental memories about. So why keep it for her until you die? OR she may love it as you do, so then pass it on NOW so she can use it and make even more memories with it.

As far as duplicates is concerned... I set up tool boxes for specific jobs. I have a plumbing box, a painting box, an electrical repairs box, etc. Each box will have items that I use for that specific task... Like a pipe wrench in the plumbing box or electrical tape and wire nuts in the electric box... But each box also contains things like pliers, screw drivers and a hammer, so I need duplicates of those items. Sure the pliers in the electrical box are slightly different from the plumbing ones... Rubber coated handles... But they are still pliers. I can't tell you how convenient it is AND organized it is to be able to go quickly and grab ONE neat tool box off the shelf and have all the tools at hand in one place that you need to repair that leaky sink! Duplicates are valuable!

I see that you have a wall that is bare brick with no plaster on. This creates brick dust. Also, removing plaster creates a huge amount of dust that hangs around. Internal walls are meant to be plastered.

If the person has psychological issues, we will always regret it. It would not call clutter if the person is normal. It's just a humble comment.

Thank you so much for doing this, both of you! That was so much fun, I watched it twice! "Like Taryn always says..." 😆🤣 I'm turning 50 this week and found your mom's tips super helpful... I've heard good things about peptides. Your mom (and little sis) are right about applying moisturizer first because a serum is mainly oil and would create a barrier that repels anything water-based. I'm glad you discussed mindset too because that's often overlooked but so key to enjoying life!

Wow! You have good genes! Your mom looks amazing! I have never been able to wear red lipstick. It all turns pink on me. I looked pretty good for my age until my dad died in a wreck and then my mom passed unexpectedly two and a half years later. All the stress that I inherited from that (think family) aged me a lot. You are both beautiful.

Have you ever try making silent videos and just demonstrating by visual instead of talking so much? Most of your babbling is annoying and not really meaningful. Take a look at upscale visual videos. Way too much mean less babbling. Thanks.

I would say best bathroom design I have seen is from Bangladesh. The clean-up is a breeze because there aren't additional extra features that require extra scrubbing when cleaning bathroom. The bathroom usually starts with the toilet that is attached with a handheld bidet sprayer on the corresponding wall facing left of the toilet, then next to the toilet is usually the vanity then next to the bathroom vanity is the shower head but it's the dual mount fixed shower head with handheld shower head but the whole bathroom area is open layout with no bathtub, open shower doors, or even tiled pony half wall glass. Also in the shower section, some homes have additional handheld shower head attached on the shower side for cleaning purposes. And on the shower side there usually a large hopper window half size, with frosted glass and bigger bathroom spaces generally have two windows instead of 1. And there is 2 floor drain, one at the shower side and one placed at the center of the bathroom. The bathroom is usually all tiles, with different tile design used to section of an area. Usually, the start of the bathroom from the toilet area to vanity area uses one kind of tile, and the bath/shower area uses another tile design to divide the section off. And people usually have a habit to open the windows when they are done showering or anytime the bathroom feel wet or moist. And the walls of the bathroom space are all tiled off. Mold isn't much of a concern when the bathroom design is focused on proper ventilation. Usually, the windows are always open unless someone goes to bathe and reopened once done. And privacy isn't much of a concern because no one places large full-sized window, and all bathroom windows are frosted.
