Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master is a high class platformer with amazing graphics and sound. You control the ninja Musashi, who in this update has many new moves and abilities. He begins the game armed with 0 shurikens, but apparently someone felt the need to leave some conveniently in his way to use.
This run is a 36.83 second improvement to the predecessor movie (tasvideos.org/1308M) and it features lots of entertaining tricks and time-saving glitches. See the authors' notes (tasvideos.org/6359S) for a detailed overview.

@@warehousedave7937 do you mean the original shinobi, or the super shinobi (revenge of shinobi)? The latter is considered one of Yuzo Koshiro’s best works, and while it’s good I’m in the camp that feels that the super Shinobi 2 has the better soundtrack. Nothing against Koshiro (Streets of rage 2 was both a technical and musical masterpiece). Just my opinion though.

Growing up with the Nes and Super Nintendo, i never realized how good looking Genesis games were. The developers for the Genesis really created some interesting stages, special effects and boss battles. Something that the Snes couldnt do at speed very well. Im blown away at some of the games now that im 41. Im so glad emulation is an option these days. Im tearing through some of these classics today.

kind of, yeah it's a Tool Assisted Speedrun, so it means the real player is only a man, who inputs the algorithm, and the ROM tool executes it

Why no Karju for 1st boss? I once got stuck at the factory bc No Kunai run. Edit: Yeah, this shaves off 5 Seconds.

It is a Tool Assisted Run; basically programming an algorithm to speed through the game with inputs queued up at specific points per frame, sometimes allowing for inputs impossible for humans to do (e.g. reverse boosting in the original mario on NES, which has the program pressing left and right at the same time, something impossible to do on real hardware, since the directional pad has a pit in the middle that it rocks on) to complete a run as fast as possible. Short answer: Yes.
