Truly amazing how everytime you use your TAS magic the screen becomes incomprehensible. If you ever do something like this again, I would also suggest leaving the text on screen longer, or having voice commentary! Wonderful video

I also included commentary throughout the run for viewers to better understand what's going on. I probably missed something but why did you prioritize using special attacks with Mario and doing regular jumps with Luigi?

Luigi doing special attacks is slower than him just doing regular jumps

Mario is the main source of damage in this run, Luigi has more of a support role especially later on when I get the Mush Badge since his damage output is a lot lower than Mario. In the final 2 fights I do attacks with Luigi that seem random at first such as jumping and using Hammer but actually they are done purposefully to manipulate RNG inside the fight.

Finally someone that notices lol. You can actually preserve the music from one area to another if you exit while mini Mario or hat Luigi is in front. If you pay attention you will also hear the beanbean kingdom music be played inside Guffawha Ruins when I begin to do the teleports

I need to do 6 Splash Bros during Tolstar but I didn’t have any BP left so I opened the suitcase and gave Mario a syrup so that he has full BP because it’s a lot faster than doing it in battle.

It's not the Spanish version. It's the PAL version using the Spanish language. PAL version is fast because I can use the void barrel in the first room of Bowser's Castle and use Hammer right after without lagging the game, something that doesn't happen on the US version of the game, and also the Spanish language is the fastest for textboxes because most textboxes in Spanish take 1 frame less to clear, and because there are hundreds of them it makes a pretty big difference.

how was the overlay made?

The overlay was made by using a lua script that displays all the visual stuff on screen. However, the game cannot be resized, and since the default window is very small I had to encode it with just the display, then encode the movie separately without the display and merge both encodes using Premiere. Also I manually added the commentary inside of Premiere.
