Notice how despite never getting the leg upgrade, X has it in the ending. Like the game can't imagine a world where you don't have it.

They didn’t bother to add the extra two checks and code for said extra checks, because you’d normal have them. You’re right, the game can’t imagine a world where you don’t have the leg parts, because it was never meant to be. Think about it, without this, you would’ve never knew about this weird detail (unless you were messing with a Gameshark or made a disassembly of the game)

Yeah, just like the first Metroid, there's passwords which are valid for conditions not possible to get through normal gameplay. Alternatively: Once I used a game genie code for jumping very high to get to the fight for the body armor in sting chameleon's stage without the dash modification... Found that it was indeed possible to do. That told me such things weren't scripted in.

@@GTA2SWcity Code not necessarily needed; one can jump off of objects onto the wall. It's, to put it lightly, DAMN DIFFICULT to do. I've only managed a few times myself.

This password will defeat all Mavericks at the start of the game, makes it possible to go to Sigma without any upgrades, including the Dash Boots which normally was forced to get.

I remember messing with a similar password many years ago, when I used to own the X Collection on GC. I tried beating the game, and it's very difficult without the dash boots. I got as far as Sigma's final form but could never beat him. Dying is very easy late in the game when you don't have the armor upgrade as well.

Wait, so X's dialogue portrait's color scheme in the opening stage is dependent on what weapon he's using? I never knew that. It probably has something to do with the color values sharing space in memory, then? It would be less taxing to share the colors between sprites.

"The blackout glitch (after defeating a boss) is caused by pressing Start at the right time, after the boss explosion but just before X tries to walk to the center of the screen. It causes the music to become soft (as if the player is in the subscreen menu) and lasts until the next subscreen menu access."

it found out for a long time, but it have a problem 1:56 when hornet falling down. X should pass over hornet in time, or will be stuck, can't kepp away again

Is it just me, or does the music volume get a little lower every time the blackout occurs?

Check the link in the description. The glitch causing the end-of-stage blackout makes the game think it's inside the pause menu, which also lowers the music volume. It would go back to normal if he ever paused and unpaused during play.

I always wondered what it would be like to have all the weapons in the first world, especially since some enemies only appear in that stage. I wanted to know what type of damage they would take with each special weapon. Obviously, this had to be programmed by the creators of the game. It was fun to see that.

The game is *_VERY_* reliant on the player having the leg upgrade... #LMAO So, this basically does some game event flag tricking to make the game think the player should start with all weapons, which in turn clears the Maverick stages. Question is, can it be triggered by a non-TA player, or is this something that requires very precise, frame-accurate responses?

In all actuality the original Megaman was likely decommissioned by Dr. Light before working on Megaman X his final project.

It was published 9 years ago - this posting is a re-encode to bring the video up to the site's modern quality standards. For this movie in particular, when it was posted originally, KZbin only supported 30fps framerate, which resulted in visual problems for the publication. Now it's in 60fps.

*Spoilers ahead you've been warned* What I don't understand is why did the people who made this game only have X talk once in the whole game? Also when I first played this game, I didn't know Zeros name was Zero untill the ending credits showed him. I thought when Vile said “Dream on Zero X knows he can't defeat me”, that Vile was insulting him. Oh and while I'm at it, be aware that of all 3 games for SNES, this is the only one that doesnt trigger a special cutscene after you beat two bosses, and the only game of the three where the armor upgrade is just an armor upgrade, as the other two games make the armor as an item to do more than protect X, also another difference between the three games is in this game, X moves slowly on ladders when fully armored, but the other two make him move fast, but only after getting both the blaster and leg upgrades. I also like how in this game when a boss blows up, how it lights up the whole room briefly, that's cool to bad they got rid of that in the other two games though. *Sigh* 😔 Oh and by the way the name of X's armor for this game is called the light armor FYI.
