I actually ran a much longer "x press up" search, trying to get 4 checkpoints from the first input, then I realised it probably wasn't necessary and you could do the second input earlier

how do you know when to accelerate?

the tas tool lets you write custom python scripts so I made one that checks every possible start time until something useful happens

@@ben1996123 how do you quantify something useful? I guess it's a lot of trial and error?

@@cardologist usually I just play through the track and decide how far it might be possible to get in one input, then try searching for something that gets that far (reaching a certain position, collecting n checkpoints, etc.). also I think this track should actually be possible in 1 input, but it would need an extremely long search (like on the order of days or weeks of waiting time before the first input)
