This was and still is a useful trick. I loved doing this on the teac 144 back in 81 and also on the next 4 track “porta one and later the 244. I still have all 3 and need repair. Keep 4 track alive

Even tho I use DAW (Ugh), but i still use the 4 tracks a lot,,,,,,,,,,, along with SMPTE timecode

Actually this is known as reverse reverb and is used often in shoegaze :) there are a few reverb guitar pedals that come with reverse reverb settings but of course this is much better than the digital emulation
