This is where I disconnected with the movie. The idea that the only reason for the mission was to cover up the US involvement, is silly. The Alien is a threat to the whole planet. But the movie leans so hard in the the USA is horrible theme, the writers are OK with that. Oh and the single hard drive in a storage drawer being the only way to connect this to the USA was similarly hard to believe.

I'm not a Snyder fan but the only reason why I wasn't that into this film is because of the characters. The only character we saw was Harley Quinn which is to be expected. Your telling me they couldn't get Deadshot, Boomerang, Katana, and what about Killer Croc?! Those characters were already the suicide squad and now we have a fresh batch of characters that we're supposed to pretend is the new suicide squad. The movie was great and even better then the first one. But it felt more like its own thing then it being a sequel

This scene is why I love this movie so much. I have always been a shy and insecure person, who always let others make decisions for him. Seeing at the cinema the team that, even faced with the awareness of facing death, still decides not to listen to Waller anymore and to go and face another mortal danger (not because they were ordered to, not because it is their mission, but because they want to do it, because - as Harley implicitly says - they need a purpose) it was cathartic like few things in the world.

See, this scene was not well written, since Waller would never do that. Yes, if Starfish destroy Corto Maltese would have been good because its not an allied, but it wouldnt end there. After destroying Corto Maltese Starro could have gone to attack and destroy other parts of the world with its new army, including the US. So the Task Force X going back to stop it is better than leaving it loose. Waller is dumb in this scene

Nope this scene is excellently written remember the suicide squads whole purpose is to the government’s dirty work, if they’re the ones who stop starro then people will question what an American task force is doing in that country, potentially exposing their involvement in project starfish and exposing the US in taking part in illegal human experimentation, if starro was going to attack the rest of the world then the justice league would’ve probably handled it, at least that’s what Waller is thinking
