well, I missed it probably. where are the tasks delegated by me to others?

This video name is: The best practices in 2024? MS Planner basic still allow anyone in team can delete the task. So we will not know which task to be deleted and probaly missing it. That the reason I prefer to use Outlook delegation but unfortunaterly this not allow to share the task list. Our team do not have visual of overall project. But both of them (Planner, Outlook todo) dont have re-minder to assigned person? In case the team member compeleted 50% but he is too busy to continue to finish this work. How can I remind them until completed?

Planner as well as To Do allow task to be modified or deleted by anyone with edit permission. That has been a problem for a long time. I don't have any information about whether Microsoft is trying to solve it. As of now, we have to live with it. The only workaround is to create a Power Automate flow and create an audit trail in Excel. Old Outlook delegation is perfect, except for the reminder part. Outlook delegation is peer to peer. It is between you (task owner) and the other person (delegate). Nobody else can be a part of it. No CCs. If you put more than one name, the auto-update will stop. For shared task lists like a project plan, you cannot use Outlook task delegation. That is where you have to use a Planner plan, or MS Project. Planner tasks can be deleted. To be sure I fully understand, are you now saying that you don't recommend using "Microsoft To Do"? Or is this video an explanation of the best practices for task management in "New Planner" at this point in time?

Thanks @The.BlackJackal The "NEW" Planner has all features of To Do. So it is becoming redundant. Tasks assigned to self in To Do appear as Private Tasks in Planner. Tasks assigned from elsewhere are visible in both apps. Therefore, going further, Planner will be the task creator and aggregator. To my knowledge, To Do will coexist. I have created a plan, but I dont want it now. Is it possible to delete the plan ? If yes, how ?, as I couldnt find it

Thanks @HARIHARAN-mk4ko 1. Access Microsoft Planner with your Office 365 credentials 2. Select the plan you want to delete from the Planner Hub 3. Click on more options (three dots) on the top of the page 4. Select ‘Plan Settings’ from the drop-down list 5. In the ‘Plan Settings’ window, click on ‘Delete this plan’ at the bottom 6. Dr Nitn - Whats the best practice on collabing externally ? Its a pain everytime to request IT to enable someoone as a guest to have access to collab. Do you have some advice/thoughts?

External collab requires you to share links to files and add guests to Teams or shared channels. If your IT team has disabled these features, you will need to convince them.

Thanks for this video! It recommends flagging email to create a task however you previous videos instructed to never flag email to create tasks. Can you please explain why the change? Thanks.

Thanks @judye99 I have said - do not flag emails if you are intending to create a task. If there is some other reason to flag emails - you can use it. I wish they add an option to self-assign tasks in personal plans. I want to divide private tasks by my project/context, I can use personal plans to achieve this, but will have to assign each task manually to myself. :(

I’m playing with this process and am using planner to identify what tasks I want to work on in a day, then I go to outlook and put them in time chunks on my calendar. One bug I’ve noticed is if I create a task in a Planner on a Teams channel and assign myself a task, it will show up in Planner, but not in ToDo in Outlook.

Understood, and when I move one of those tasks to “My Day” it will show up in ToDo and Planner in My Day as expected. However if I open Outlook and go to calendar to begin planning my work for the day, and I open the My Day option to view tasks, none of the tasks made in Teams channel Planners assigned to me show up. I can make a short video to show if that isn’t clear
