Definitely my issue. I had to order the special tool VW uses to remove it. Car will sound like a diesel when it goes bad. Will throw no codes except mine threw a p0341 code for camshaft position sensor. Exhaust side works fine as vvt does switch.

I have this exact issue my car sounds like it’s a diesel and same code as well. Can you tell me which took you ordered and did you change both solenoids in both cams or just the one ?

@@TheMatt4897 if it’s while the car is idling it’ll be the intake camshaft. The tool you’ll need is a VW camshaft solenoid remover. I found it on fcpeuro.com.

@@TheMatt4897 yep that’s the right set make sure to turn the opposite direction. It’s reverse threaded.

Im getting fault code P0011, took out the oil control valves the one from the intake cam looks damaged could it be the one that's causing the intake cam timing to over advance & not correlate the crank timing?

I have a Golf 7 GTI perfomance unfortunately I also have this error code p001400 when I put the car on D it starts to vibrate and the rev counter keeps going up and down it goes out I get a message malfunction start stop system I get really tired of this can it lying here?

I have had an issue for the past 4 months as well. No error codes. Only pop up when driving and using a generic scan tool. P0029 code. No codes with VCDS

I have 2014 VW GLI. I replaced the camshaft magnet - the circle part on outside. Can I easily instal the inner VVT solenoid as a DIY? I have intermittent P151E code. Shop said most likely this part but recommended an oil compression test first - probably to rule out oil pump.
