vw mk7 cam solenoid issue (part 2)

I’m currently having a misfire in cylinder 3 on my 2015 Passat with the 1.8T. Took the cam magnet out and notice it wasn’t moving freely like it should. Would a cam magnet and or oil solenoid cause a misfire in only one cylinder with no other codes related? Compression is 180psi and good leak down on cylinder.

I am having a loud shaking diesel noise with slight misfire when accelerating. No codes would this be my problem?

I had 2 "good" Solenoids I replaced them and switched them twice, I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on with my car p0011 audi a5. I bought a new solenoid and boom code gone. The smallest damage to these things will cause them in not function. Sometimes you can't notice them sticking and not working out of the car.

Hey bro I have a 2011 a5 it keeps popping the solenoid, I have good oil pressure and my timing was done like last week, I used a “known “ good one should I just bite the bullet and get a new one ?

Hi mine was doing the same sound and I changed the solenoid on the intake 4 months ago, the sound was gone now is making same sound again

I see you have the P0164D code there. Was the engine showing below spec oil pressure only at warm idle? I've got almost the exact same list of codes. Plus my Intake Cam Phase is at +11.73 and my Intake Cam Adjustment is at 38* degrees.

Hi, do you need to lock the engine before undoing them? Is there any chance tho mess up a timing? Thanks

No, you do not need to lock the engine. Replacing the camshaft adjuster magnet and VVT solenoid (aka oil control valve) does Not mess up timing.

Does this issue has to bring up a code ? Or is it possible that this solenoid can be bad without a code
