If you could taste "Domemico Tauro" main crop in Greece, then you would say that is one very very good big black fig variety...!

What is the best type of fig to plant here in Arizona? I am looking to make a graft tree but want the hardiest fig tree as the root stock. Thanks for sharing😎
@EnlightenmentGarden5 жыл бұрын
East Mesa Urban Homestead I recommend black mission, Texas ever bearing and lsu scotts black varieties for being fast growing heavy producers here that also serve as excellent root stock for grafts

Darn, I have 2 small ones. Maybe keep one and sell the other. Thank u for your review.

Yes it's not a top tier fig but is big. A tasty fruit but if space is limited there are better choices.

@@EnlightenmentGarden I have 4 fig trees. Three are brown turkey and the other one I don't know but its very similar to this tauro brega you describe here. I hope to turn one of the brown turkey into a multi graph tree. Looking at the black madeira variety. Want to do 2-3 varieties on it.

What's the best PH range for growing fig trees? I've read that it like slightly acidic while others swear by alkaline soil. Does it make a difference in the flavor of the figs? Thanks.

Have you try the main crop?
@EnlightenmentGarden4 жыл бұрын
Not yet; main crop has dropped and not ripened in my climate. It may just be too hot/dry in AZ for this variety to perform well.

Do you selling any cutting ?
@EnlightenmentGarden5 жыл бұрын
Not now--my fig trees don't go dormant until around Feb. I would suggest following www.figaholics.com/cuttings.htm. That is where I got mine last Winter.

I have torro fig they are amazing. Torro not tauro… just saying.

Cool! Are you saying that the Tauro sold by Figaholics = Torro? What usda zone are you in? If you're not in Phoenix AZ, I totally understand as climate makes an impact on quality. My videos are about how well figs fruit in my climate. facebook.com/Figaholics/photos/a.560029974057420.1073741827.556076651119419/1441353569258385/?type=3&theater

Thanks; I wanted Tauro to be great! It's good and I liked it; it just is not exceptional and with close to a 1,000 choices out there --there are better choices

@@EnlightenmentGarden I agree. I've heard large figs aren't as tasty. However, I wouldnt know as I've not tried one before. Patiently waiting though. For now, I'll just keep on drooling during your reviews...lol
