Another unique type to add to the 'grown' list. Looks like a pretty good type and a good yard attention getter. Thanks for the share!

It's an easy one to grow, but in our yard, it was the first plant to go because of disease. Thanks for watching!

Mine were rather thick skinned as well. They were good, but we much preferred the tomatoes we got off of our limelight from Wild Boar. I think they're almost the same variety, just a touch of variation between the two.

Thanks for the tip on limelight. I might have to give that one a try.....if I can just find room.

I haven't tried this one but my favorite yellow this year is "Azoychka". Very good flavor on that one. Makes a great salad and good on tacos.

That's such a pretty tomato! It would make a nice-looking salsa.

I agree. It would work great in a salad.

Great video, Jim. Just when I think I have settled on my favorite varieties to plant, you always come out of nowhere with an exotic new variety that sounds interesting. I am glad you are still planting indeterminate tomatoes too. I was seriously considering switching to all-dwarf tomatoes next season, but now we are in the end of the first week of October, and here in upstate NY in my garden only the Cherokee Purple, White Tomesol, and Orange Wellington (all indeterminate varieties) are still reliably producing lots of tomatoes this late into the season. All the dwarf varieties are long gone, some plants are pretty much dead too. Rosella Purple, Boronia, Maralinga, Kookaburra Cackle, Fred Tie Dye, Adelaide Festival are all gone except for Eagle Smiley. But those old-tested indeterminates like Cherokee Purple are still producing. So I will be mixing dwarf tomatoes with the traditional indeterminate varieties for now.

Sounds like a good plan. Thanks for sharing how indeterminates and dwarfs did in your area! I guess we all have to figure out which ones work best for our particular location. We've had a very hot fall so far here. I think next week is supposed to be closer to normal though.

It looks like one of the cherry tomatoes that was in a basket of different ones I bought. If it looks good, I will eat it. Love tomatoes!! 🐝

Good Morning Jim - It is amazing the varieties in color, taste, production, and disease control of the simple tomato. Sadly my husband won't eat anything but a red one even though I try to sneak them in when I grow different varieties. Thanks for the info and review on Emerald Flame and I might try to grow it since it is a smaller tomato plant. Interesting that you can't tell ripeness by its color. Have a nice weekend..

Good morning Sue. Well, we all have different tastes. I didn't like cherry tomatoes much until I found Sun Gold. Hope you and your husband have a great weekend!

Sue, which is his favorite red? Btw thanks Jim on the review. Gotta wonder if in Florida and warm places that tomatoes can be outside all year they throw something in the air to make them sick via drone high in the clouds or something

@@xaviercruz4763 Roma for pico and beefsteak for slicing/salads. Don't grow a lot of tomatoes but need to include those each year. Very sad about Florida today and all Helene impacted areas.

Very beautiful looking tomatoes. Doesn’t look very meaty from the cross-section in the video. Thanks for the review, mate. Enjoy the weekend :))

They look and taste good, but they are a little prone to disease compared with the other tomatoes I grew this year. You have a great weekend too!

That's an interesting looking tomato. I can see where it might be difficult to tell when it is ripe. It does look like it would be a good slicing tomato for a sandwich. It's a shame that it suffered early on with disease. Sounds like it wouldn't make it here in Florida. Take care and have a great weekend.
@MidwestGardener3 ай бұрын
Yep, you're right, it probably wouldn't do well in your area. It did well here early, but faded quickly. Have a great weekend!
