PORSCHE 924 RESURRECTION - PART 2 - BRAVING THE COLD PREPARING THE CAR FOR AN MOT!

I had a 924 once that was a right pig to get started cold - a combination of the cold start valve and warm up regulator were the culprits in my case - The Bosch K Jetronic doesn't like to be left sitting for a long period ! If you run her for a few weeks like you said then start diagnosing ! Very tidy 924 that one !

Absolutely, seems to have cleared up with some fresh fuel etc thank god, glad I didn't have to get too involved with it I could see it becoming a headache!

The starting issue may be the cold start valve on the backside of the intake not injecting fuel when cold starting. The motor in the left rear is for the sunroof, witch is also detachable. Really nice looking 924.

Disconnect the 5th injector/ cold start valve and put in a bottle it should be squirting fuel for 10-30 seconds depending on temperature on startup. Also check you are getting 12v to wiring plug. Good luck.

Found your channel with the 924 project and am enjoying the watch. Looked through your other videos and found the Omega 😍. Cold start issue on the 924 maybe something to do with the 5th injector/ WUR if its anything like my mk2 16v Golf with kjet

now that Ive watched you start it cold, I would check for a gummed up Warm Up Regulator. You can open them up and clean them out. If it was JUST the cold start injector (which may also be bad), it wouldnt continue to stumble afterwards until warm.

Top Tip for you, Waxoil in the summer when the car is warm and dry and after the MOT coz if the MOT tester spots a weld issue you missed you have just added 5lts of flammable wax to your car for the first spark of the welder to find.

On my rear boot struts there are terminals with broken wires by them ..I think it's for the heated rear window

You can get wine coolers that you insert the bottle into. I reckon this could be used in reverse. Heat them up (a bit) and then insert the waxoyl can into it.

Bilt hamber do a cavity wax - the tube & head are 3mm max - can get in anywhere!

Catching up on old vids , so i'm a tad late on 1st Feb , but to me that distributor cap and rotor looks just like the easily obtainable Bosch 009 parts as used on the old air cooled V.W .Beetles .

Hint : If you have a sealed switch that refuses to play ball carefully drill a small hole in the base of it and spray in switch cleaner / WD40

@@motoabbott8234 you can tell by the way it is. lol. CIS system with fuel distributor and those 4 lines coming off that go to the 4 main fuel injectors.
