Ahaa no wonder this game is not a nes port of icarius because of having a by name of it,eventrough everything is still zoomed in so i wouldn’t be surprised if they used assets from the nes version for this game.

My best guess is that you have to get turned into an eggplant to get through the gap behind the statue enemy. Maybe you can't normally move while crouched or can't crouch at all. Consider also how quickly you can remove the curse too. If you're going to force the player to get cursed, you'd also want to let them remove it ASAP.

@@MythicMagus Didn't think about that, thanks. I guess that's it; in the NES game Pit could crouch-walk just fine, but I suppose it could be different in this game

Something about Orcos saying "YOU PUNY LITTLE WIMP" is strangely funny to me and i don't know why maybe it has to do with how professionally written the cutscene was, then suddenly the villain just comes out with the cheesiest villain dialogue of the 80s

You gotta remember the OG Game Boy had like a ~3 inch screen with a little over 80 pixels per inch, which was impressive for a handheld at the time.
