I have been eyeing the Tula but I think I’ll pass with my dry skin. (It’s so nice we share the same skin type!) I still recommend the Sun Bum Mineral SPF 30, I got it at Ulta for $21 USD with no fragrance and tint similar to the Tatcha. I will still treat myself to another Tatcha for my birthday 😅 I vote you review the Avene please. Have a great week 😊

$38 for 1.5oz is STILL far too overpriced imo... I also don't like how there's only 5.9% UV filters in the Tula. Now we need a dupe for the dupe.😂

This was amazing thank you so much! I think all of the sunscreens you mentioned at the end look super interesting but if I had to include one I’d pick the Avene just because I try to always look for SPF 50. I don’t only use SPF 50 but I feel like I’m more interested in the elegant formulations of those if that make sense!

Those both look pretty, but I would need a great deal to buy either. For the next review, I vote for the Avene. I have filmed a couple of first impressions but am being very lazy about editing them. And I have started my "second chance" sunscreen trials, where I'm retrying sunscreens that I didn't love to see if I can make them work or if they need to be leg sunscreen. 🤣🤣🤣 This is to force me to use them up. One week each.

I admire that effort!! I really should try to do the same, but I tend to have a defeatist attitude and just pass my misses along lol. I’m curious to hear how it goes for ya!

I would not get either personally, I just cannot justify the price for a sunscreen. I find there is enough great drugstore brands to chose from . Right now I have mineral Neutrogena and Juice Beauty (from winners), and have used for years the Aveeno and Ombrelle and still do. The last few years I try to use only mineral as learned about the difference, but there is not always good stock in stores when I am looking spur of moment on the go. Which better to wear then not to, so I’m ok with either and some days it does come down to price when I am choosing. ☺️ However, if I had the money… all Tacha products always sound so lovely and I love to hear about them and it would be interesting to try one day! 😁

I wrote as wanted to vote, and forgot in my last comment! 🤦♀️😂. I would love to see a review on the AVENE sunscreen. As my daughter skin likes the Avene gel cleanser and it has made a difference that cleanser alone she feels. Which is odd as she is so dry and I think it’s more for oily. She also uses the mist and enjoyed last summer very much! it’s a little more costly that brand but her skin is so sensitive (with eczema, so many products hurt her) it is always exciting when she finds a product her skin accept, is helpful and she personally loves! 😁

I haven’t, but that does look like a lovely sunscreen! I’m intrigued that they sell a brush to go with it. I’ve wondered for a while if that’s a better way to apply sunscreens (after measuring out the 1/4 tsp) 🤔

I like liquid or runny sunscreen they are my favorite, I interested in Tatcha only because their formula comes with Niacinamide. I will recommend Beekman 1802 Milk Primer for a liquid texture and helps with itching and irritation. My biggest complaint is the price and other reviews claim that the packaging is horrible peeling after a while.
@AliceintheRabbitHole Жыл бұрын
If it helps, I hear that Tatcha updated their packaging! Mine did indeed peel too, so frustrating that they didn’t get that right upon release 😞

Thank you for your review. I have not tried the Tatcha sunscreen yet. I’m using the murad city block spf 50 pa ++++ sunscreen. It’s a mineral sunscreen. I like it. However it doesn’t play well with some facial moisturizers. Some moisturizers cause it to pill. If you get a chance please review it. Unfortunately it can’t be dupe to Tatcha because it’s slightly more pricy then the Tatcha one.

@@AliceintheRabbitHole oh yes. They have a 25$ travel size one. It does leave the slightest cast but once you rub it in, it dissolves. I want to try the Tatcha one but I’ve read some reviews where some people still got sunburn. I’m not sure why? Maybe because people were not putting enough of the product on. I’m new to mineral sunscreens but so far the murad one is not bad. I’ve tried the Biossance one and it is entire too too too oily. That is a certainly a miss.

Since I went too many decades not wearing sunscreen [helloooo… Coppertone SPF 4 (yes, FOUR!) as the only option🙈], I feel I need to treat my skin with the very best to try to make up for it = SPF 50 PA ++++. No good excuses for me to do otherwise since there are enough choices that meet that criteria. (Which ends up being a shame for those that are great but not SPF50.) I did buy the Avene with my last shopping order before my no-buy, but I haven’t gotten to them yet. I bought both the tinted and non-. I’m pretty sure the tinted will be astronomically too dark for me, but I’m hoping by mixing them I can get the right tint. (Side note: Why is it we have to look like either Casper the not-so-friendly blue ghost, a pubescent mirror ball with pizza grease, or an Oompa Loompa with a tanning bed obsession??? Some chemical formulator needs to explain why sunscreen tints are such a problem. We can put people in space, but can’t match sunscreen to real people’s skin??? And then charge us a high fee for this “privilege”??)😆 All this to say, can’t wait for the Avene review!😂

Question about blue light needing to be blocked. The peppy co mask has a blue light option for acne. So do we block blue light or purposely expose face to it🤔?
@AliceintheRabbitHole2 жыл бұрын
ISNT IT CONFUSING!?! No wonder people do not know what to make of the claims coming at us left and right in this industry!! But the idea is: controlled blue light (in a mask) could hypothetically be used to reduce bacterial spread. Whereas *too much* blue light could be damaging…specifically to the retina via the research. We really don’t know if blue light in general “is bad”, aside from the studies looking at impacts on the eyes I really think the entire blue light scare was a foot-in-mouth moment for the industry tbh.

U know I really suprised with how much you obsessed with SPF that you haven't bought one of those SPF camera yet..lol I know I know they expensive AF. Did u see 🍑 and lilly has an oil cleanser I think it's new I saw someone get it in PR. I was looking on Sephora of course cause that's what I do lol I need a life and saw Dr Brant had a serum like what I didn't even know Sephora sold his stuff anymore what a way to try to make a come back with a 80$ I think maybe an antioxidant serum I don't even know what it's suppose to be and tower 28 with their 40$ HA and salt water serum they are getting real creative ..lol
@AliceintheRabbitHole2 жыл бұрын
I have complicated feelings on those!! Same with the dots - it feels like extra “stuff” companies are selling to people, out of the fear of their sunscreens not working? The Purito scandal did not help with that either, but my thought/hope is that companies learned from it? Im torn on that Tower28 serum!! I actually didn’t fall in love with the mist, so I’m thinking I’ll probably be neutral on the serum? But then again, maybe it’s that case of finding WHERE to put a product type into a routine lol

That "classic sunscreen smell" is from the mineral filters, so a mineral sunscreen shouldn't have that smell. In my experience, unscented mineral sunscreens that don't have any fragrance maskers or fragrance ingredients like the plant oils/extracts you mentioned, tend to smell like mud or clay (hello, Murad sunscreens! You smell like clay!) 😂
