well one of the main things here that separates from the rest , as would Big Brain or Tank the tech interview is that they are not journalists who haven't been on the guest's shoes, they are either vocalists, instrumentalists or in Tank's case apart of being in band before he then became a roadie who toured a lot, so questions are way more insightful than journalists would be able to do

Elizabeth is so knowledgeable and you can tell she just loves music and artists and creativity and really respects them witout judgement. I think artists pick up on that and don't feel like they're being played or manipulated. I think they appreciate that and it becomes more of a conversation with a friend than an interview with a suit.

Here is THE answer for you guys. It's Kirk. I don't know how he does it, but he works with the PR teams and gets the time with the artists. Tati was a bit different. The interview was scheduled for a minimum of 45 minutes and we just kept talking. We had about 2 hours of footage and cut it down to 90 minutes. It's all Kirk though!

Late reply, but I think what really helps here is that Elizabeth is just letting Tati speak. There’s no time limit, she’s not steering the interview in a certain way or cutting off the answers. Ordinarily this type of interview would be all over the place and disjointed, but with someone like Tati it’s probably the most comfortable you can make them. It’s more like a conversation than an interview

Alright so I just got back from their live Seattle show and it was INCREDIBLE. Unfortunately their drummer Vlad has covid, so they just used previous live recordings, but I can promise it didn't take anything at all away from the experience. Vlad's my favorite and I think he's the most impressive, but even just the three of them more than filled the stage. Honestly Tatiana could perform an entire show alone with no problem imo, she's breathtaking. She has the most amazing stage presence, it's like you can't take your eyes off her, and she 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘴 it. I heard multiple gasps and wow's throughout the show at her voice alone during screams and belts, and we already all know her well enough to go to their concert! I'm incredibly impressed, and I had really high hopes. Honestly, I think her screams are better in person as well. It was like the compression was holding her back and when it's live you can hear EVERYTHING she's got, and it's a lot. Her deep deep screams were insane. She screamed lower than their opener's singer even approached, and their opener was a death metal band called Suicide Silence. So freaking cool. She also had a TON of crowd interaction; stuff like fist bumps (and some elbow bumps for covid lol), pointing out, smiling at people, making faces at specific people, getting everyone to clap, etc etc. A bunch of people right at the front had their phones up recording and she took one and held it out like a selfie for a bit and panned around to the crowd and gave it back, ALL WHILE SHE WAS STILL SINGING, and did that a few times. It was awesome, everyone absolutely loved them. Right after they left the stage, there was an "encore" chant that morphed into "ONE MORE SONG" and it was a hell of a final song and performance when they came back. (it was Vortex, if you're wondering) Eugene's subtle nod and ☝️ when he walked back on the stage threw the crowd into a frenzy lmao. She was super positive and had awesome energy, really made you want to just bounce along with them and shove some people around in the mosh pit. She was really nice and thankful to the city, and even had us cheer for their opener again at the end of the show! Truly a class act. I'm so humbled and impressed. It was my first ever concert too!! No better one to have gone to! Jinjer for LIFE!

I was there for the show and was really impressed with how clean their sound was. Usually when you have complex writing like that with low tuning and distortion it becomes very muddy live. I was standing right in front of Eugene and his performance blew me away.

Your personality is so genuinely interested in listening, and being thoughtful that you made this extremely introverted woman so comfortable within like 2 minutes. Tatiana's writing process reminds me a lot of my academic career. Procrastinating, procrastinating some more, procrastinating to the point of panic, crying, more procrastination, trying and failing, extreme stress and anxiety, then a miracle occurs 2 hours before the exam, paper, or project's due and somehow I end up with a grade. I've re-wrote, from scratch, an entire 9 page term paper that I had over a month to write, starting 3 hours before it was due to be handed in. I'd wrote something completely different the night before. After handing it in, I was wracked with shame and considered asking my professor if I could try again. I accepted my fate. When I got it back, I had an A.

I noticed Jinjer only recently when the YT algo brought them up. The song was "Pisces" and it brought me right back to late 90s Guano Apes. They were huge in Europe and Japan back then, just like Tatiana describes, and "Pisces" is very much their style, with Tatiana delivering a very much improved version of what Sandra Nasic can do, like fan fiction that outdoes the author, with much apparent musical reference and respect for the original. It seems like a linear development and it is nice to have a "new" band in that vein to listen to, even if their own style is a development away and beyond my old stomping grounds.

Tatiana gave you a great recommendation. The song Open Your Eyes by Guano Apes was a huge hit in Europe when it came out in 1997 and it was the first time I heard harsh vocals (not growls, though) from a female. The first females I ever heard doing growls were Angela Gosow (from Arch Enemy) and Candace Kucsulain (from Walls of Jericho). Lacy Sturm (from Flyleaf) also did some screaming here and there. Edit. You should also check out Otep. I didn't mention it because I thought you already had, but I was wrong.
