Hi Tatiana, I will add that when you have worked in a Primary market like Paris, it often leads to lucrative contracts in the secondary markets. It did for me when I was in my 20's, I modeled in Paris and then the owners of Zucca approached me after I walked in Jean-Louis Scherrer Haute Couture. They offered me a lucrative contract and I spent 30 days in Tokyo modeling the collections there and I made twice as much as my guarentee. Are the Tokyo agencies still offering those contracts? Mine was for 10,000 but I made more than two times that. Modeling in the primary markets adds a lot of prestige to a modeling career and helps the model get work in other markets.

Hi Jamil, yes, they still do this, but not that often, especially since the pandemic situation... Everything has changed. And btw it was so nice to hear your story. Do you still continue working?

Great information! I'm just curious. Are there any secondary markets/cities in the U.S.A.? I really enjoyed your video!
@TatianaKurnosova4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, I'm happy to hear it! :) When I think of secondary markets in US, the first ones that come in mind are Miami, Dallas and Chicago. There are plenty of commercial jobs in Chicago and there's even a swimwear fashio week in Miami, so these 2 cities are really good for modeling. I guess there are some jobs in almost every city with average population, you just need to do some research and find the right clients :)

@@TatianaKurnosova I'm surprised Atlanta isn't one since they have so much film and music production. Also, L.A., that's surprising. Thanks for the info. I would've never guessed Dallas and Chicago.

Hi Tatiana please are African models / black models welcome in the asian market ? I’ll be glad to get a feedback thanks
@TatianaKurnosova4 жыл бұрын
Hello, unfrotunately black models aren't really popular in Asian markets. Although the situation is slowly changing and I've been seeing more of black / mixed models there, still the situation isn't that good. They usually choose the models who seem to look like "a bit Asian", for example if the black model has the eyes that can look Asian with certain make-up or if she has a baby face, because baby faces are highly requested in Asia too. The different case scenario is if African / black model already has a student visa or work permit (working visa) in Asian country, then it's possible to successfully work there. Same as if she's already famous. It's sad, but Asian markets aren't so diverse yet.

Are the requirements lower for asian market ? Im a male and i would like to become a model in South Korea but I only measure 175cm.
@TatianaKurnosova8 ай бұрын
Hello, for male models the lowest height in professional modeing in Asia is ~ 182 cm. It doesn’t mean it’s absolutely impossible to work there if you’re not that tall, but it will be harder and also many things depend on your overall visual appearance, experience + visa status. If you already have an appropriate type of visa, it will be easier to find the right path / niche in the industry. I recommend you to check my playlist about modeling in Korea kzbin.info/aero/PL2n0G6Jp9TLbFD-24OCtnqf4r1SyWS5cT&si=fmPmd5RbvitaVhRN I share helpful advices there and explain details about visas too. And watch my videos about the basics of modeling too, it will help you understand how everything works. If you’re serious about this career, you may consider having a model coaching session with me - I will help you out and we’ll create an effective and realistic career - plan for you. You can find the details about it here tatianakurnosova.com/index.php?page=Coaching Anyways, wishing you best of luck!

If you work with these secondary places (eg japan or China) do you have to live there?
@TatianaKurnosova3 жыл бұрын
No, not necessarily. You either get a contract there via your Mother Agency (usually it's a short term contract for 2-3 months) or move there.
