1961 XLCH Ironhead R&R #150 Motor Rebuild Overhaul Harley Sportster
complete teardown inspection rebuild reassembly install and get running.
this sportster bobber only had 175 miles on its rebuilt motor before it needed to be fix correctly.
I built the bike earlier in the year so it was up to me to fix it now.

Great videos. Got a question. On my 72 sportster 1000 does it matter which side I put the cam spacers on? Ive seen some spacers that are large enough for the cover side of cam #2. Also do I need a tool to pull the tappets and can I pull them with the jugs still on the case? Thanks

yes you can put shims on both sides of the cams. i have both but i like the inner position the best. if the lifter blocks are not pressed in hard you can usually get them out. do not pry very hard on the side of the block or you will break it off. rotate and pull at the same time if possible as seen in my videos. the exhaust blocks have room to come out but most of the time the intakes hit the cylinders. sometimes you can grind the cylinder some to get the extra clearance you need. tatro

Tatro, I hope you can help. I got the bike back together and runs great. I tried to change the oil (cant find a video) and now I have 0 oil pressure. I took off one of the tubes that go up to the head and no oil come out. I see oil coming into the oil tank. Could I possibly have air that needs to be bleed out. This bike has a oil filter and oil cooler. I removed both to get the old oil out. Thanks for any help
