Leeks should always be put in a large bowl of water and mixed around the left a few imubtes and removed by hand not pouring and put in your pot. Leeks by nature can have a lot of grit and dirt in them and that process leave that grit and dirt in the bowl.

Take some silicone caulk and put a dot on each of all four corners of your cutting board to stop it sliding. Let dry thoroughly
