Thanks! I've been looking into tattoo machines (built a DIY 'proof of concept' one just now). This video gives me a lot of answers about how the machine is actually supposed to work, what is adjustable, etc. Really; I've been looking for a video like this for ages... Clear and concise. Awesome

How far out should a magnum needle be when the machine isn't in use? For some reason i seem to tear the skin more often then not when using these magnums. The needle jumps around instead of staying in place
@oogoldyooimvu25488 жыл бұрын
If you press the needle forward, as at the end of its stroke, it needs to be at a length you like to work with, I have mine showing 1 mm more than my work depth when pressed out, this seems to work well for me and allows the tips to pick up plenty for the next pass when they retract, This is for a medium stroke though, it may not suit everyone. so when the machine is sat idle mine are actually just short of the tip and can not be felt if you pass your finger across it..

@dropdeadinc.customtattoo25375 жыл бұрын
Of course it doesn't explain what stroke length you should have a shader machine set for or how to accomplish that. Running a shader needle on a machine set more for a liner can do just as much damage to the skin as a barbed needle will

Jasmin Feels what volts are you running on your power supply
@jasminvaughn-montoya82607 жыл бұрын
Mmm I've been doing around 4.2 only because if I go any higher than it starts to spark.
@donniethomas66427 жыл бұрын
in general that is a good voltage to run a quality setup. If you can bump start the machine then I would recommend maybe trying to stretch the band a little before putting it on or trying to tune your machine a little different. A well tuned machine should be able to run at 4 volts flat up to 9 with out sparking. I hope that helps.

Stuff like this shouldn’t be online for anyone to watch, and we wonder why there are so many scratchers. This industry is already so over saturated. I and many of my peers had to work our balls off for no pay to learn this from our masters.
