Fun fact: Hugh drawing on the billboard was completely improvised. It was never in the script. You can see him look at the camera crew instead of the team for just a brief moment before he looks back to the team when he says "Inappropriate?" They kept it in despite the possibility of backlash. The best improvised moment in the series, and so extraordinarily in-character for House.

I remember seeing somewhere in interview I can no longer find; I understand not taking my word for it but I'd like to note that I meant just the part of him drawing on Taub's face. It's not definitive proof, but the fact that he' looks at the crew before he says his line right after seems like reason enough to believe that he actually did just improvise it all. Plus, you can hear his tone fall slightly less "sure" of himself like House always does when berating or making fun of people. It's not a stretch to say that it was improvised, but I understand the skepticism. I've been searching for the interview for like an hour now and I can't find it goddamn anywhere.

@@Crowald I didn't mean to challenge you or to call you a liar; I'm just sort of fanatic about this show, I have several books about it, I've watched/read dozens of interviews, and I had never heard that account. I knew HL and Jennifer Morrison came up with the "black walnut-ginger tea" bit in "Autopsy," and that HL and Jesse Spencer ad-libbed the pancake steal and the almost-clapping "What, no applause?" thing from "Clueless," but those were the only instances I knew of improv on the set.

During the run of the series, I have noticed that there is a certain motif in the way House selects his team members: 1. Foreman, Taub and Park are the most stoic regarding House’s antics and tend to underestimate themselves, but they are very much efficient thanks to their ability to retain their professionalism. 2. Chase, Thirteen and Adams are the adventurous thrill seekers of their teams, being the most willing to take on whatever crazy task House assigns them with. 3. Finally, Cameron, Kutner and Masters are the moral and ethical core of their teams, who empathise with their patients and make sure to be there for them when the need arises. That’s also why Kutner’s absence was so profoundly felt by all members of the team, including House himself.
